Chapter 111: Is That Old Woman Out of Her Mind?
Watching his master's expressionless face as she handed him the photograph, Di Tian stayed silent, completing the autograph even faster than before.
Meanwhile, Jiang Chen dared to chuckle quietly. Was he courting death? Did he want to know what a Dragon God Claw felt like up close?
Just give him one strike—see if he still had the guts to laugh then.
In his mind, Di Tian was already coming up with a hundred ways to "educate" Jiang Chen when the time came.
As for Wu Zhangkong, faced with the unexpectedly warm and "approachable" Di Tian, he finally breathed a sigh of relief.
He did his best to suppress the childish urge to ask for a signature himself. Still, he couldn't help feeling conflicted about everything that had happened.
Shrek Academy had gone too far this time.
"It's alright, Teacher Wu. They understand," Jiang Chen said, reading his thoughts.
He truly pitied this man—the prodigy once hailed as Shrek's hope. If not for emotional scars, he would have long attained the rank of Titled Douluo.
In the original tale of this world, the same man would eventually reach rank ninety-nine, becoming an Ultimate Douluo in mere years.
Jiang Chen wondered—if Wu Zhangkong ever found out that Long Bing was still alive, would he regain that drive again?
Wu Zhangkong nodded faintly.
"I'm fine."
But deep inside, he had already made his decision.
Having received a formal invitation from Douluo University, perhaps it was time to consider joining them.
And soon, East Sea Academy's director, Long Hengxu, would return as well—to stand up for these children.
Caught in the middle of Shrek and the Federation, Wu Zhangkong didn't belong to either side anymore.
Especially after Shrek's disgraceful actions today—even if Cai Yue'er's behavior was her own doing, it dealt him a heavy blow.
"How… did Shrek end up like this?" he murmured.
Meanwhile, in the headquarters of the Spirit Transmission Tower—Douluo City (once Shrek City).
News of Gu Yue's triumph spread rapidly.
"Congratulations, Gu Yue—you've truly surprised me!" said Leng Yaozhu, eyes sparkling with pride.
Champion of the Tianhai Tournament's spirit soul competition, youth forging contest, three-on-three battles, and the grand seven-on-seven team match—Gu Yue had swept everything.
The Tower had been watching closely. They knew Shrek's humiliation was no accident—Shrek's arrogance had invited it.
In truth, the Federation barely cared. Its focus was on science and technology, aiming to one day escape the planet and explore the cosmos.
But the Spirit Transmission Tower had made its move—releasing the long-hidden Bai sisters to crush Shrek's southern division team, and now, its Tianhai squad.
"Truly, the world changes in strange ways," Leng Yaozhu sighed.
What shocked her even more was that the Tower's other Vice Master—Di Tian—had personally overseen the award ceremony, publicly praising Gu Yue.
The implications were enormous.
"If I can never ascend to Tower Master… perhaps Gu Yue has that chance," she mused.
Then came the report from the Tianhai branch—that Shrek had stooped so low as to attack juniors.
Did they think these children had no backers?
Leng Yaozhu's eyes turned dangerously cold.
"Perhaps it's time I paid them a visit personally."
"Hahahahaha! Excellent! Simply excellent!"
At East Sea Academy, Director Long Hengxu could barely contain his joy.
They were famous now—Eastern Sea Academy had become a national sensation!
And by trampling the name of Shrek Academy to reach the top, they had turned themselves into legends.
Future enrollments? No longer a worry for years!
Most importantly—
"Has East Sea City finally surpassed Tianhai City to claim first place?"
With the publicity storm that followed, even a pig could soar into the sky!
The Tianhai Tournament was one of the Federation's highest-ranking competitions, and this year it drew nationwide attention.
When curious reporters dug deeper, they uncovered Shrek's lineup:
Na'er's identity was still hidden, suppressed by the Sea God Pavilion elders.
But the rest—two Soul Kings, one Soul Ancestor, and four Soul Elders!
Such a "luxurious" roster had lost to East Sea Academy!
And not just anyone—the team included Dai Lingyu, the Star Luo Federation's princess and twin martial soul bearer; Wu Duosi, the brightest genius of her nation; and Yuanen Yehui, descendant of the god-tier Titan Giant Ape martial soul.
They had still lost.
A humiliating defeat for Shrek Academy.
But what drew even greater attention were the names that dominated the Federation's new Youth Prodigy Rankings: Jiang Chen, Gu Yue, and Di Xuer—the top three spots, all tied to the Spirit Transmission Tower.
Add the Bai sisters at fourth and fifth, and the entire top five belonged to the Tower.
They weren't even pretending anymore.
Major powers across the Federation also began whispering. It was rumored that Jiang Chen was a descendant of the Huo family's secret "million-year soul beast experiment."
Some even speculated—had someone actually managed to "court" the Snow Empress herself and borne a hybrid child?
A human–soul beast hybrid that powerful…? Impossible—and yet, undeniable.
Eyes turned again toward the Beast Kings. If Di Tian was untouchable, perhaps the Bear King or Scarlet King could be captured instead?
Fools, all of them.
"Gu Yue, you're famous!" Xie Xie shouted, reading the online news. Gu Yue now sat at the top of the Youth Prodigy Rankings.
He couldn't believe what he was seeing. Then again, remembering the four ten-thousand-year spirit rings she possessed, maybe it wasn't that surprising.
Gu Yue glanced at the list, then slowly turned to Jiang Chen, who was feeding Huo Yun'er beside her.
"You. Fight me," she said flatly.
Jiang Chen blinked. "What?"
She pointed at their rankings on her screen.
"When did you become this childish?" he sighed.
Gu Yue turned away, cheeks faintly flushed.
Whatever. He wouldn't accept anyway.
He never had the courage to fight her—otherwise, they wouldn't be stuck in this weird rivalry.
Meanwhile, the others underwent psychological evaluations from federal specialists. After all, not many teenagers could withstand direct pressure from a Super Douluo without trauma.
They were all rare geniuses, future Titled Douluos and potential Super Douluos. Letting mental scars linger would be the Federation's loss.
But really—had anyone ever seen such disgraceful behavior?
If it were an Evil Soul Master bullying children, that would be one thing.
But for a Dean of Shrek's Outer Court, a Super Douluo, to behave like that?
Even Jiang Chen hadn't expected such absurdity.
If Di Tian hadn't intervened, who knew what disaster might've followed?
The whole Federation knew Zero Class had already been recognized and protected—connected to both the Tower and the Federation's new university project.
And yet Shrek still pulled such a stunt.
Jiang Chen rubbed his temple and muttered under his breath:
"Is that old hag's brain leaking or what?"
