Chapter 246: The Federation's Truly Major Conference!
A temporary command center had been built upon the ancestral grounds of the Yuanen clan.
The decision to place the Demon Gate there hadn't been the Federation's intention—but given how deeply the matter concerned the Yuanen family and their two guardian beasts, there was no other option.
And for the Yuanen clan, agreeing to such a risk came at a steep price—a share of the resources from the conquered plane.
They couldn't just give it away for nothing. Too many of their ancestors had died for this.
Now, around the enormous round table, the Federation's most powerful individuals had gathered.
Uniformed officers stood silently along the walls, not daring to speak.
At the head sat Chen Xinjie, Master of the War God Temple.
To his left were the two Limit Douluo of the Yuanen family—Yuanen Zhentian and his son, Yuanen Tiandang.
To his right sat Qiangu Dongfeng, Tower Master of the Spirit Pagoda, alongside his vice, Leng Yaoyu.
Behind them stood General Le Zheng'en, commander of the Western Army Corps.
After Shrek Academy attempted to seize that mysterious surge of life energy over the ocean, Le Zheng'en had personally intervened. Though the situation couldn't be stopped entirely, it had drawn the attention of the Federation's uppermost council.
And matters concerning a foreign plane naturally called for the involvement of the Holy Angel family—hence the presence of Le Zheng'en himself.
Farther down the table sat a middle-aged man in his forties—a scion of one of the oldest clans still active today.
The Clear Sky Clan.
They, too, had been summoned.
Claiming a foreign plane wasn't merely about life force—it promised endless material wealth. Among all of it, the metal resources were the most precious.
Thus, the Clear Sky Clan had secured its seat. As for the Nine Treasure Glazed Tile Sect, though still around, it no longer bore the influence it once shared with the Clear Sky Clan. Once equals among the "Upper Three Sects," it now lacked the standing to attend this historic meeting.
Sitting farther along was the Divine Craftsman Zhen Hua, accompanied by his friend Mu Ye, the current master of the Body Sect—
a Level 94 Titled Douluo and top-tier Double Armored Master.
Across from them sat General Dong Zi'an, commander of the Western Legion, a man whose presence radiated killing intent.
Once called the Federation's fiercest warlord, his martial soul was the Green-Faced Wolf—an unassuming wolf spirit that he had refined, through sheer perseverance, into Limit Douluo strength.
His title, "Ferocious Wolf," fit perfectly.
He embodied the saying: "There are no useless martial souls—only useless soul masters."
To cultivate a low-tier martial soul like the Green-Faced Wolf to Limit rank was nearly impossible—unless mutation occurred. But in his case, there had been none. Just power earned through unbreakable will.
Equally astounding was the fact that both he and Mu Ye possessed red-grade, god-tier mechas.
Red god mechas were reserved for the absolute elite.
Most Limit Douluo could boast a four-word battle armor, true—but a red-grade mecha demanded far greater mastery, resources, and fine control.
Mu Ye had chosen to devote himself entirely to his armor, which was why he'd remained stuck at Level 94 for years.
Dong Zi'an, however, managed to master both armor and mecha—ascending to Limit Douluo regardless. His prowess spoke for itself.
Across from him sat the man he despised most—Yu Guanzhi, the Pen God Douluo, commander of the Central Army Corps.
Next to him were Zhang Huanyun, the Bright Mirror Douluo and head of the Blood God Corps; Yin Moshang, commander of the Northwest Corps; Guo Zhenfeng of the Northern Corps; and lastly… the Sea God Corps commander himself.
Every major force of the military had sent representatives.
The entire Federation's eight great legions—the Central, Sea God, Western, Northwestern, Eastern, Northern, Southern, and Beihai Legions—as well as the three naval fleets, were all represented.
It was a true convergence of the highest echelons of power—military, political, and spiritual.
All because of one thing: the Demon Plane.
If the Douluo Plane could devour it completely, its life force might evolve beyond its current limits.
It could become capable of sustaining gods once more.
This was the most significant assembly since the historic meeting concerning the Abyssal Plane.
At the table's center lay an ordinary-looking panel. But when Chen Xinjie tapped it lightly—
A transparent holographic screen emerged, the work of advanced soul-guided technology.
A massive 3D map projected above the table—depicting the boundary between the Douluo Plane and the Demon Plane. At the center glowed a flickering red rift—the Demon Gate, carved like a bleeding scar into the very heart of the Yuanen clan's ancestral grounds.
The air was heavy, almost suffocating. No one in the room dared breathe too loudly.
Chen Xinjie's gaze swept across the assembly. Every face sitting before him represented a force capable of shaking the Federation itself.
He spoke slowly, gravely.
"Gentlemen, the plane coordinates have been locked. The spatial channel is now provisionally stable. This—" he gestured toward the flickering scar—"is our new reality. The Demon Gate stands upon Yuanen soil. It was not by our choice, but the situation is now fixed."
His tone deepened. "This is both a catastrophe and an opportunity beyond measure. The energy and resources of an entire world cannot be monopolized by any single force. This must be a joint endeavor of the Federation as a whole."
"Even with the gate secured, the Demon Plane remains shrouded in danger and mystery. Proceed with utmost caution."
His eyes turned toward Yuanen Zhentian and Yuanen Tiandang.
"The Yuanen family stands at the front lines. The risks and sacrifices you bear will not go unanswered. The Federation will ensure priority compensation for any and all losses."
The elder Yuanen Zhentian merely nodded, his expression carved from stone.
Chen Xinjie continued, turning to the right. "Tower Master Qiangu, since the Spirit Pagoda has the deepest expertise concerning interplanar space and cross-realm lifeforms, I'll need your assessment on two key points—the construction timeline of the Spatial Stabilizer and your proposed plan for the Demon Energy Containment Barrier."
The passage to the Demon Plane could not depend solely on human sustenance.
It required stable technology—something enduring that the Federation could maintain.
Qiangu Dongfeng's voice was calm and cold. "The Spatial Stabilizer's main structure can be completed within three days. However, maintaining continuous operation—especially counteracting the spatial oscillations caused by conflicting plane laws—will require a huge number of high-grade energy crystals. The deficit is enormous."
He paused, tapping the table thoughtfully. "As for the containment barrier… Vice Tower Master Leng's research has shown promising progress."
Then his gaze drifted toward Le Zheng'en. "Of course," he added smoothly, "we may also require the assistance of the Holy Angel Clan."
