Chapter 245: The Fallen Little Angel Appears!
When Jiang Chen took out a jade pendant, Yuanen Yehui froze on the spot.
That aura—it couldn't be mistaken. It was her mother's!
Forgetting all else, she rushed forward and grabbed Jiang Chen's wrist tightly.
"Tell me! Where is my mother?"
Her teary eyes glimmered with hope. Jiang Chen hesitated, remembering that the Demon Plane was already under his control. Besides, he hadn't been relying on her to open the Demon Gate as a future Title Douluo.
Her mother, however… now that was different.
There was no harm in telling her the truth. Maybe this would pull her away from Shrek's grasp sooner and closer to his side—or, as he justified it to himself, toward the right path.
Then he paused.
Wait a minute—since when did he start worrying so much about Douluo University?
Oh, right. Weakening Shrek Academy was part of his long-term plan.
Yuanen Yehui's relief overflowed. Her eyes brimmed with tears.
She had survived this long only on the faint hope that her mother still lived.
Her grandfather had told her that her mother was dead, but deep down she never believed it.
Even bound with her despised Fallen Angel martial soul, she could still faintly sense her mother's lingering presence through it.
It no longer mattered who this man was or where he came by the information—so long as he could take her to her parents.
"You…" she began.
"My name's Jiang Chen," he said calmly. "If you want answers, follow me."
After a heartbeat of hesitation, she did.
There was no "secret room," but eventually he found a secluded storage chamber to talk privately.
"Show me your second martial soul," Jiang Chen said.
The air suddenly grew heavy.
Her face tensed. If she revealed her Fallen Angel martial soul, word could spread—and once that reached Shrek, she'd be finished.
But oddly, she felt safe here. The Federation didn't seem as dangerous as Shrek's judgmental halls.
Her gaze flickered to the jade pendant in his hand. Its aura was unmistakable—it truly belonged to her mother.
"Promise me you'll keep this secret," she said softly.
If he had her mother's belonging, he had to know her mother. She couldn't doubt him.
"I plan to leave Shrek," she admitted. "I want to join the Spirit Pagoda. I swear—I don't want to be an Evil Soul Master! I never wished to harm anyone."
Then the air around her chilled.
A wave of darkness welled up from within her body.
Unlike the colossal Titan Giant Ape, which swelled her form into might and muscle, the Fallen Angel transformed her entirely.
Yes—Fallen Angels were still angels.
The air thickened with dark aura as black-violet wings unfurled from her back, shadows coiling around her radiant figure.
Violet light flickered through her eyes; beauty turned haunting, her face both terrifying and enchanting—danger wrapped in seduction.
As with her Titan Giant Ape, her transformation altered her clothing, weaving energy into raiment. Otherwise... well, the results would've been indecent.
Her gown shimmered with threads of everlasting night, embroidered with starlight-like fragments that flowed like liquid shadow, tracing every dangerous curve of her silhouette.
The hem fluttered in the air like the surface of the River Styx—dark, fluid, silent—revealing, every so often, a flash of pale calf or the smooth curve of an ankle carved from ivory.
Bare shoulders gleamed, marked faintly by golden runes like ancient seals.
Purple-red hair spilled down her neck. Every movement shimmered with temptation and sin.
"Beautiful," Jiang Chen murmured.
Maybe it was because the first Fallen Angel he'd met was already a married woman—and Na'er's presence dulled his appetite—but this one was different.
Yuanen Yehui radiated the intoxicating scent of purity tainted by sin—innocence touched by corruption.
He cleared his throat. "No, no, no. Focus, Jiang Chen." He shook his head, chasing away the intrusive thoughts.
Then, suddenly, the jade pendant in his hand pulsed and flew into her chest, vanishing within.
It was the same pendant her mother had entrusted to him before departing for the Demon Plane—meant to be given to Yehui once she reached Douluo University.
Instantly, her skin shone with a crystal-like brilliance, every cell rippling with newfound vitality.
Her soul power roared forth like a surging river.
Where once her Fallen Angel possessed no soul rings, now five black rings appeared at once—five ten-thousand-year rings hovering around her.
At only forty-nine before, she had never dared seek a spirit soul from the Pagoda—fearing exposure.
Now, that worry vanished.
Her second martial soul had lifted her higher.
Her level didn't stop at fifty—it climbed steadily until it reached fifty-four before stabilizing.
"Huh?!"
She opened her eyes, dazed. She'd just… broken through?
"I want my mother!" she blurted out suddenly.
Jiang Chen sighed. Mission accomplished.
But should he tell her the rest? Her mother could contact her easily—she was, after all, a high-ranking agent of the Federation's Dark Division.
Before he could decide, she approached him slowly, Fallen Angel still active.
Her personality had shifted with the transformation—no longer fragile, but alluring, dangerous, and supremely confident.
"Brother," she purred, voice dripping sweetly, "won't you tell your little sister where her dear mother is?"
Jiang Chen frowned slightly. Without thinking, he caught her by the waist and pushed her gently back against the desk.
"Ah—what are you doing?!" she gasped, flushed, breath quickening.
But before anything more could happen—
Bang!
The door exploded open.
A team of Douluo City enforcers burst in, clad in uniform, soul-guided rifles raised.
"Hands up! Don't move!"
Jiang Chen froze mid-motion, realizing what it looked like—Yehui's flushed face, their tangled position, his hand still around her waist.
"L-let me go!" she stammered, voice barely above a whisper.
He released her immediately, stepping back several paces. "This isn't what it looks like!"
The guards leveled their weapons. "Save it. You're both coming with us."
"I'm innocent! I'm a good citizen!" Jiang Chen protested, but it was no use.
Under a rain of flashing lights and confusion, both he and the "little fallen angel" were taken away.
"Wait, what—??" he groaned as they were dragged out.
