Chapter 149: Subjugating the Beast Sovereign
"Half Saints! Half Saints!" The Beast Sovereign, trapped within the energy prison, muttered in terror as Xiao Wu smacked him hard several times with a massive energy palm.
Only then did the once dominant ruler of the Magical Beast Mountain Range snap out of his daze and quickly change his tune. "I had no idea you were Saints!"
Hearing this, Xiao Wu's expression finally softened. With a slight movement of his hands, the massive energy prison, originally hundreds of feet tall, shrank rapidly until it was just a few feet in size. The once mighty Phantom Lightning Hawk was now reduced to a mere foot long bird inside.
"Young Master, we've captured the little bird. Shall we extract its magic core now?" Xiao Wu asked casually, tossing the caged hawk in front of Xiao Yan.
This suggestion caused the Beast Sovereign's feathers to stand on end in fear.
He had assumed the Xiao Clan boy was already impressive for bringing along two Dou Zun protectors. To his horror, the Xiao Clan's true strength far exceeded his imagination two Half Saints as mere guards.
"Half Saints! How could such terrifying power be used as mere escorts?" Even with his pride as a Five Star Dou Zun, the Beast Sovereign couldn't help but inwardly curse.

"No need for that," Xiao Yan said, his tone calm as he waved his hand. He approached the cage and smiled faintly at the trapped hawk.
"I will give you one last chance. Considering the difficulty of cultivating for a thousand years, surrender the Seven Colored Demon Saint's Reverse Scales, and I will spare your life. Refuse, and you will become the last Eight Star magical beast to fall in the Magical Beast Mountain Range."
"I'll give them up! I'll give them up!" The Beast Sovereign's voice trembled as he transformed back into his human form an elderly, hook nosed man resembling an old vulture.
Reluctantly, he raised both hands, presenting three radiant, multicolored scales that shimmered brilliantly.
As soon as the three Reverse Scales appeared, Xiao Yan's storage ring began to tremble uncontrollably. With a thought, the three Reverse Scales already in his possession flew out, merging with the Beast Sovereign's three scales in a dazzling display of light.
"Boom!"
A blinding brilliance erupted as the six Reverse Scales merged, illuminating the entire area. A massive, thousand foot long phantom of a seven colored serpent appeared in the sky, its majestic form sending an overwhelming aura that compelled countless magical beasts to bow instinctively.
Even the proud Phantom Lightning Hawk couldn't resist tensing up under the sheer pressure of the phantom serpent.
The Seven Colored Swallowing Python, one of the most revered bloodlines among magical beasts, was an overwhelming presence that few could endure.
As Xiao Yan held the now unified six Reverse Scales, a faint, directional pull emanated from them, pointing toward the location of the seventh Reverse Scale. When all seven scales were gathered, the Demon Saint's inheritance would be unlocked.
"Young Master Xiao of the Xiao Clan, I've handed over the Reverse Scales. Could you spare this old hawk's life?"
"Spare you?" Xiao Yan chuckled, looking at the subdued Beast Sovereign before shifting his gaze toward the scattered seventh tier magical beasts in the distance.
"You lot, come here," Xiao Yan's voice echoed, carried by Dou Qi. The magical beasts froze in fear.
A streak of silver light was the first to approach, coalescing into the form of a short, elderly man with silver growths on his face.
"Sir, what is it you require from us?" the silver elder asked respectfully.
Xiao Yan glanced at the elder and smirked. "It's you. I didn't expect you to serve under this old hawk."
"Yes, my lord. Please, if I may be so bold, I beseech you to spare the Beast Sovereign." The elder bowed deeply, his demeanor humble yet cautious.
Xiao Yan's smirk widened. This silver elder was none other than the Deep Spirit Silver Toad he had encountered upon arriving on the Western Continent.
"You're quite the clever one, aren't you?" Xiao Yan mused.
"Not at all, my lord," the toad replied, glancing back to bark at the other magical beasts. "What are you all standing around for? Come greet the lord properly!"
Terrified by the display of Xiao Yan's power, the other magical beasts scrambled forward to bow respectfully.
"What's your name?" Xiao Yan asked, addressing the silver toad.
"Your servant is named Chen Yin, my lord," the toad replied promptly.
"You've got a good head on your shoulders. Here, take this as a reward." With a wave of his hand, Xiao Yan tossed a fragrant pill toward Chen Yin.
"This is... a Transformation Pill!"
The gathered magical beasts gasped in awe.
Many of them had remained at the seventh tier for years, unable to achieve full human form due to the rarity of such pills. This made the Transformation Pill an object of immense desire.
"Thank you, my lord!" Chen Yin's face lit up with gratitude as he knelt to bow deeply.
"Enough," Xiao Yan waved dismissively before turning his gaze back to the Beast Sovereign. "Now, tell me do you have any grievances against me?"
"Not at all, my lord!" Though the Beast Sovereign's eyes betrayed a flicker of anger, he bowed his head low.
He knew that with Xiao Yan's terrifying guards, even attempting to escape was futile.
"Good," Xiao Yan said, his tone turning serious. "Let me be honest with all of you. I plan to establish a powerful faction in the near future, and you are all part of it now."
His words caused the gathered magical beasts, including the Beast Sovereign, to stiffen.
