Chapter 106: Blitzkrieg — The Surprise Attack on the Iron-Blood Sect

"Well, since we're launching a night raid, of course we need to wear dark clothing. That's how we avoid being spotted."

Ye Chen explained with a perfectly serious expression.

"I don't believe a word of that… you just want to see me wear it," Tang Ya said, giving him a speechless glare.

She wasn't stupid—his intentions were far too obvious.

"What? Not at all… hmm, this silk stocking fabric is really smooth though."

Ye Chen denied with his mouth but his hand had already wandered to Tang Ya's thigh, clearly "testing" the material.

"Stop it… there are people around," Tang Ya whispered, batting his hand away with a blush.

If they were alone, she wouldn't have minded a little teasing, knowing full well what Ye Chen liked—but they were still in a clothing shop.

Ye Chen might not care about appearances, but she did.

"Haha, fine, later then…" Ye Chen chuckled.

"Hmph, whatever." Tang Ya turned away with a snort, though her silence was as good as permission.

Ye Chen grinned and continued browsing clothes—not for himself, but for Tang Ya… and also Jiang Nannan, Wang Dong, Ma Xiaotao, Ling Luochen, Zhang Lexuan, Wu Feng, Ning Tian, and Xiao Xiao.

After all, he had a sharp eye—and he knew everyone's measurements.

This world's stockings were durable, but they still tore eventually, so he needed extras. Lots of extras.

...

Half an hour later, Ye Chen had finished his "shopping sweep" and left the store with a very satisfied smile, Tang Ya following behind him, cheeks flushed.

"So many… how are we even supposed to wear all of this…" Tang Ya muttered shyly.

She actually thought all of them were for her. Even wearing ten pairs a day, it would take years to go through them—completely absurd.

"No worries, we'll find a use for them eventually. They won't spoil~" Ye Chen replied casually, carefully avoiding the truth. If Tang Ya knew, she'd probably run away on the spot.

...

Late that night.

Ye Chen and Tang Ya arrived at Heaven Dou City.

Thanks to Ye Chen's flying soul tool, their journey was quick.

As for teleportation—he avoided it while carrying passengers.

Teleporting someone else caused immense spatial strain—the farther the distance, the worse it became. Even short teleports, repeated too often, could induce severe "spatial motion sickness."

Tang Ya had already thrown up once.

To spare her further suffering, Ye Chen chose a slower but smoother flight.

Upon reaching Heaven Dou City, Ye Chen found an inn for them to rest in.

Tang Ya removed her shoes, her dark gothic dress, and her stockings, leaving only the delicate black lace lingerie beneath. Then she quickly slipped into a silk nightgown of pale blue—much more fitting for her usual style.

"What's there to stare at…"

She turned and caught Ye Chen's unabashed gaze, her cheeks instantly flushed pink.

Even after everything, his eyes still made her shy.

"Xiao Ya-jie is just too beautiful~"

Ye Chen laughed softly and pulled her into the bed beside him.

He was already used to having a warm "pillow" when he slept—there was no way he'd rest alone.

...

The next day.

After lingering lazily in bed and doing some cultivation, they finally got up around noon.

Ye Chen's soul power had risen to level 53—an impressive gain overnight.

"Let's go to Tang Sect's old site and inspect the area. See when would be the best time to strike."

After lunch, Ye Chen took Tang Ya's hand and led her outside.

"Okay."

Tang Ya nodded slightly, clutching his hand tightly, her nerves evident.

It was her first time returning to Heaven Dou City since fleeing all those years ago.

Just thinking about the massacre made her heart burn with rage—she wanted nothing more than to tear her enemies apart and use Tang Sect's cruelest methods to make them die in despair.

But she had been powerless back then. Now… she had Ye Chen.

...

Ten minutes later, the two arrived before the Iron-Blood Sect.

As the gate came into view, Tang Ya's body trembled violently, tears streaming silently down her cheeks.

The dark red entrance rose to about two stories, its wings stretching into low brick walls of gray-blue stone.

The neatly-aligned roof tiles gleamed faintly in the dusk light, casting the gilded words "Iron-Blood Sect" into sharp relief.

Wooden plaques hung on each side of the gates—one read "Iron Will and Crimson Heart," the other "Unyielding Spirit." The worn surfaces spoke of age and weather.

This had once been the Tang Sect's home. Now, it was the Iron-Blood Sect's domain—the Tang Sect's name erased, its legacy stolen.

Iron-Blood Sect was originally a small third-rate power, but years ago they somehow bribed the city guards and attacked Tang Sect while it was weak.

Though Tang Sect had a good reputation, everyone was slaughtered. With no one left to seek justice, the Heaven Dou royal court imposed a token fine and turned away.

"So this is Iron-Blood Sect…"

Ye Chen's tone carried faint disappointment as he scanned the modest compound.

A once-mighty sect destroyed by such a petty organization—it was almost pathetic.

"This… this was my home…"

Tang Ya clutched Ye Chen's hand tightly, her sobs soft but heart-wrenching. Her eyes were red, her tears soaking her pale cheeks.

"Don't worry, Xiao Ya-jie. I promised you revenge. I'll kill every one of your enemies and hand their sect master to you personally."

Ye Chen gently patted her back, his voice calm but resolute.

He could feel her grief and fury—and it pained him.

Though he had no personal enmity with the Iron-Blood Sect, he wasn't the type to stand idle.

He had joined Tang Sect; this was his karmic duty.

From the moment the Iron-Blood Sect slaughtered Tang Sect, their own destruction had been written.

This wasn't about justice or evil—it was cause and effect.

And when the time came, he would leave no survivors. Loose ends only led to future trouble.

"You two—who are you? This is the Iron-Blood Sect. Get lost."

Two Iron-Blood disciples at the gate called out warningly, seeing Ye Chen and Tang Ya staring.

Pride filled their eyes—within these streets, the sect was known as a minor overlord. Even gatekeepers carried themselves with arrogance.

Tang Ya was about to speak when Ye Chen vanished.

In the next instant, he was behind the two disciples.

"You—"

Puchi!

"—Puchi!*

The two men barely had time to utter a word before thin silver needles pierced their skulls. They collapsed instantly, twitching once, then fell still.

Ye Chen's silver needles could alter size and thickness within a short range, and combined with teleportation, they were perfect silent weapons.

As a trained medic, his precision was surgical—each strike targeted the brainstem, killing instantly and cleanly.

Slitting throats risked splattering blood.

Piercing the chest might not kill immediately—soul masters could roar and fight even with shattered hearts.

Ye Chen could easily take the entire sect alone, but striking silently, one by one, was much better.
