"How many nuclear warheads have been transported to near-Earth orbit?"
Moonenidy gave a slight nod before posing the question.
Williams responded directly upon hearing this.
"Currently, six hundred nuclear warheads equipped with Anti-Neutron Jammer Modules have been transported to near-Earth orbit."
Upon hearing this, Moonenidy issued a cold, expressionless order.
"Assign these six hundred nuclear warheads to a single unit and have them attack PLANT's Boaz Fortress. Use the nuclear warheads to destroy this fortress!"
Receiving the command, Williams momentarily froze before quickly responding.
"Understood!"
Moonenidy offered no further instructions and calmly ended the communication. Staring at the terminated transmission, Williams sat silently in his chair for a moment before initiating another call.
"Come here!"
After uttering these four brief words, he abruptly ended the communication.
......
Twelve hours later,
Central Hangar of the Athena
The cockpit of the returned Genesis Gundam opened. Felix removed his helmet, shaking off the sweat from his head, and turned to Taiber with instructions.
"Leave the maintenance to your team."
"Please rest assured, Captain!" Taiber saluted, giving a solemn assurance.
Felix nodded slightly at the saluting Taiber, handed him the helmet, and stood up to continue toward the elevator.
Bridge of the Athena
"How is our overall situation?" Felix asked Aric as he entered the bridge.
Aric turned toward him, stood up, and reported.
"The Earth Alliance Forces are putting up exceptionally fierce resistance. As of now, it will take some time for us to completely break through their defensive lines."
Felix glanced at Aric and moved to the electronic tactical map display table. Seeing this, Aric stood and issued an order to Oakley.
"Oakley, you are to take command of the Athena. Report immediately if anything arises."
Oakley saluted and responded earnestly.
"Please rest assured, Captain!"
With that, Oakley lowered his arm, his gaze fixed ahead as he assumed command of the Athena.
At the Electronic Tactical Map Display Table
Felix studied the current battlefield situation displayed on the map, silently contemplating their next move.
"Captain, should we attempt a rear assault on the Earth Alliance Forces?" Aric, standing beside Felix, proposed.
Felix turned to look at Aric, shook his head, and rejected the idea.
"No!" he said, his eyes fixed on the electronic map. "The Earth Alliance Forces are backed by the Ptolemy Military Base. If we try to flank them for a surprise attack, the Ptolemy base will detect us. Not only would the operation fail, but the entire unit would be wiped out."
After hearing this, Aric stared at the map, pondering for a long while before suggesting again.
"What about directly attacking the Ptolemy Military Base?"
"How many forces are you planning to allocate for such an assault?" Felix asked calmly, glancing at Aric.
Aric, upon hearing this, manipulated the electronic combat map with his fingers, displaying the corresponding troop distribution numbers. Felix watched his actions and followed along with his own operations.
After a series of manipulations, Aric stopped his actions.
"The overall success rate is less than 20%, and the final outcome is poor with heavy losses. A surprise attack under such conditions is worse than not attacking at all."
Seeing that Aric had stopped, Felix calmly gave his reply.
After speaking, Felix continued to observe the electronic combat map regarding the current situation. As he watched, he said to Aric:
"After I rest for a while, I will pilot the Genesis Gundam and launch from the Athena. At that time, I will use ultra-low altitude flight to conceal the mobile suit and ultimately launch a surprise attack on the Earth Alliance Forces' formation from the left flank.
The target this time is directly aimed at their flagship!"
"Captain, isn't this operation too risky for you to undertake alone?" Looking at the plan Felix had laid out, Aric's face showed concern as he asked with worry.
Felix glanced at Aric and then said:
"Deploying too many units for such an operation would likely expose our position. Moreover, the Earth Alliance's flank isn't that easy to break through; otherwise, our forces assigned to attack the flank wouldn't have been stalled for so long."
As he spoke, Felix took a deep breath and then changed the subject:
"Besides, if it doesn't succeed, I can retreat more easily on my own."
Hearing this, Aric immediately understood and nodded in response to Felix:
"I understand."
"Captain, encrypted communication from the Eternal!"
At that moment, Oakley's voice rang out on the bridge.
Felix looked up upon hearing this, glanced at Oakley, and then walked toward his seat.
Sitting down, Felix connected the communication.
Lacus's face appeared on the communication screen. Felix looked at her and asked with a slight smile:
"Is something the matter?"
After his inquiry, Lacus's concerned voice reached Felix's ears:
"Felix, how is the battle progressing right now?"
Hearing her question, Felix glanced at the worry on Lacus's face and calmly replied:
"It's going relatively smoothly."
Lacus nodded upon hearing this and then asked about Felix's condition:
"How are you?"
Hearing Lacus's worried inquiry, Felix replied in a very gentle voice:
"I'm doing fine here, completely unharmed. Don't worry."
As he spoke, Felix stretched his arms and turned his body toward the camera on the communication screen.
Seeing this, Lacus felt relieved inside.
Watching Lacus become reassured, Felix stopped his movements. Looking at Lacus, Felix asked with concern:
"How are things on your end? Have you come under attack from any other forces?"
"I'm doing fine here too. Nothing has happened."
Shaking her head, Lacus spoke gently with a smile on her face. Seeing this, Felix felt relieved, and then remembering their previous conversation, he asked Lacus:
"Lacus, has there been any response from the doves within the Earth Alliance?"
Lacus sighed upon hearing this and then shook her head.
"There's still no news at all."
After answering, the smile faded from Lacus's face, her mood noticeably dampened, and her voice carried a hint of apology as she continued.
"I'm sorry, I might have failed."
"You've done your best, so there's no need to apologize."
Seeing Lacus's dejection, Felix felt a pang of discomfort. In this state, he gently comforted her.
Felix looked at Lacus, then suddenly thought of something and asked.
"Lacus, do you have any intelligence or messages passed from the doves within the Earth Alliance?"
"Intelligence?" Lacus sounded slightly puzzled before asking. "Are you referring to military intelligence?"
