Chapter 280 - Chapter 280: Patrick's Thoughts, Felix and Aric's Conversation

At this point, Ezalia looked up at Patrick and asked a straightforward yet crucial question.

"Zala, when do you plan to deploy GENESIS?"

Patrick raised his eyes to meet Ezalia's gaze, his fingers lightly tapping the table before he responded after a moment.

"We need to wait until the Earth Alliance has deployed the majority of their forces to the Moon before using it!"

After hearing this, Ezalia carefully considered the current situation on the Moon before addressing Patrick again.

"If that's the scenario you're describing, it will still be some time before GENESIS can be activated."

Patrick nodded slightly and made an acknowledging sound.

"Hmm."

After this brief response, Patrick's tone turned serious as he continued.

"Before GENESIS is formally deployed, we need to continue sending forces to the Moon to achieve our goal of drawing the Earth Alliance's main strength there."

"No problem, I will organize this aspect."

Ezalia nodded and agreed to handle the matter.

After glancing at Patrick, Ezalia stood up, bid farewell, and turned to leave the room.

Once Ezalia had departed, Patrick lowered his head and continued working on the documents in front of him.

Aboard the Athena

In Felix's room

Felix and Lacus had largely finished discussing their plans for future dates.

As Lacus sat in her chair and was about to speak, a communication alert sounded.

Lacus swallowed her words and considerately stood up, moving away from Felix. Watching her rise and step aside, Felix turned his attention to the screen.

Seeing the incoming call display, Felix pressed the answer key.

The moment the connection was established, Aric's face appeared on the screen.

"Is something the matter?"

Felix asked in a calm tone as he looked at him.

Aric regarded Felix with respect as he spoke.

"Captain, we've developed several tactical plans. Would you come and review them?"

Upon hearing about the tactical planning, Felix thought for a moment before agreeing.

"I'll be right there."

After his reply, Felix ended the communication.

He turned back to Lacus with an apologetic expression.

"Lacus, I have something I need to attend to. I'll spend time with you later."

Lacus smiled understandingly and replied in a gentle voice.

"Go ahead with your work. I'll be fine on my own."

Hearing her response, Felix stood up, went over to Lacus, gave her a big hug, and then turned to leave.

Upon entering, Felix asked Aric.

"How is the tactical planning progressing?"

Aric turned to face Felix, saluted, and reported.

"Captain, after our discussions, we've formulated a pincer attack tactic."

As he spoke, Aric displayed the corresponding deployment map on the large screen.

The map on the screen clearly indicated enemy positions and the annotations for the pincer attack deployment.

Observing the flawless and impeccable diagram, Felix carefully studied the details of the pincer attack.

After a moment, he spoke.

"The pincers in this pincer attack are too weak. Given their current state, there's a high chance the Earth Alliance Forces could break them directly.

Not only would the pincer attack fail, but the two units serving as the pincers would suffer heavy losses, possibly even total annihilation."

Hearing Felix's concern, Aric explained.

"Captain, although our pincers are relatively weak, if we can catch the Earth Alliance Forces by surprise, even these weak pincers can crush them!"

Glancing at Aric, Felix countered with a cautious approach.

"That logic holds, but it's too risky. If the pincers don't crush the Earth Alliance Forces immediately, they'll break our pincers.

The losses from the pincer units would severely impact our overall strength.

Most importantly, rescue operations wouldn't be able to respond in time!"

Aric didn't argue back.

His fingers moved across the control keys, and the tactical map projected on the screen changed again.

Compared to the previous pincer attack, this new tactic was a steady, head-on advance strategy.

"Captain, if that's the case, we'll have to revert to the frontal advance tactic we've been using. We'll wear down the Earth Alliance Forces through direct assaults."

Felix studied the tactical map, thought carefully, then stood and walked over to the electronic map table. Seeing Felix's movement, Aric rose and joined him.

Felix's fingers glided across the electronic map, swiftly outlining a completely new tactical plan.

After finishing, Felix turned to Aric and said.

"The Genesis Gundam I pilot is already on the Earth Alliance's watchlist. As soon as I sortie in the Genesis Gundam, they'll dispatch large numbers of Mobile Suit Forces to surround me.

So, from now on, we'll center our annihilation strategy around me."

As he spoke, Felix's fingers moved across the electronic map again.

The display changed!

The Genesis Gundam was marked at the center, surrounded by numerous dots representing Earth Alliance units.

Beyond these dots were the ZAFT Forces.

Felix also sketched out tactical arrangements in other areas.

These tactics were designed to pin down the remaining Earth Alliance units.

"Captain, are you planning to gradually whittle down the Earth Alliance's forces through attrition?"

Aric studied the plan and guessed the intent. He looked at Felix and asked.

Felix glanced at Aric and nodded.

Then, he continued working on the electronic map.

As he worked, he added.

"Once we've gradually consumed the Earth Alliance's Mobile Suit Forces, we can focus entirely on dealing with their fleet. Then, we'll deploy the pincer attack. Without their MS units for outer protection, even the powerful firepower of the Earth Alliance's battleships will be ours for the taking!"

Aric nodded in agreement, then countered.

"But what if the Earth Alliance sees through our tactic and stops focusing on surrounding you?"

Felix chuckled upon hearing this and said, "It's even better if they don't launch a coordinated assault against me. Without those nuisances pestering me, I can disrupt the Earth Alliance Forces' offensive with greater ease."

"For me, it'll be like a fish in water. At the same time, I can swiftly maneuver through their lines to strike at the fleet groups in their rear."

Aric fell silent upon hearing this, carefully pondering Felix's words. While Aric was deep in thought, Felix continued working on the electronic map.
