Chapter 281 - Chapter 281: Spearhead Tactics! Thurman's Prediction

After completing the electronic map operations, Felix turned to Aric and spoke.

"Aside from what I mentioned, if the enemy stops using encirclement tactics against us, we will employ Spearhead Tactics!

The tactic will form a spearhead with the Genesis Gundam I pilot at its core, piercing through the center of the battlefield to break through the Earth Alliance Forces.

After completing the spearhead penetration, I will lead the unit in a left flanking maneuver to launch a rear assault on the left side of the Earth Alliance Forces.

We aim to eliminate this Earth Alliance Mobile Suit Force to the greatest extent possible."

As he spoke, the electronic map demonstrated the plan. The advancing arrows tore through the Earth Alliance Forces on the map like a sharp blade.

Aric looked at the map's content, recalled Felix's words, and nodded in agreement.

Seeing Aric's nod, Felix continued, "Next, we'll maintain the ceasefire while waiting for reinforcements to arrive! Once they're here, we'll execute the tactics."

He paused briefly before adding, "Of course, if the Earth Alliance Forces attack us, we must engage to prevent any issues with our current defense line!"

"Yes, sir!" Aric saluted and replied respectfully.

After hearing Aric's response, Felix turned away from the electronic map and said, "I'll leave the corresponding organization work to you. Just send me the finalized version when it's ready."

"Understood, Captain!" Aric nodded in response.

With that, Felix turned and left the Bridge.

Watching Felix depart, Aric delegated the tactical organization work to others before returning to his seat to continue his duties.

Meanwhile, aboard the Earth Alliance Combined Fleet's flagship, Thurman, Landon, and others were engaged in discussions.

During the discussion, Landon looked at Thurman and said, "Commander, I believe if ZAFT changes their tactics, there's a high probability they'll formulate and execute strategies centered around that particular MS within their ranks."

Hearing Landon's thoughts, Thurman glanced at him calmly and said, "State your reasoning!"

Taking a deep breath, Landon explained, "ZAFT's Sword of Damocles is arguably their most powerful ace currently, its presence comparable to one or two fleets. Therefore, using it as the core for tactical execution would effectively create breakthroughs and greatly assist in subsequent tactical phases."

After presenting his reasoning, Landon took another deep breath and concluded, "So I think it's highly likely they'll develop and implement tactics centered around the Sword of Damocles."

After considering Landon's analysis, Thurman nodded thoughtfully. "Your points are valid."

With that, Thurman returned to studying the electronic map intently. After observing it carefully for some time, he spoke again.

"Based on your analysis, it's highly likely that the ZAFT Forces will employ Spearhead Tactics to penetrate and divide our troops."

As he spoke, Thurman's concept materialized on the electronic map.

Landon studied the arrow's penetration pattern on the map, nodded with a grave expression, and spoke solemnly.

"If this tactic succeeds, it would spell disaster for us."

Then Landon shifted his tone.

"However, judging by the information we currently possess, the ZAFT Forces' troop strength doesn't seem sufficient to execute such tactics!"

As he voiced this doubt, Landon's expression suddenly turned grim.

Just as he was about to speak, Thurman's voice cut in.

"Unless their reinforcements arrive soon!"

Hearing the Commander's words, Landon nodded gravely.

Thurman temporarily set aside his work and looked at Landon.

"I'll leave the tasks here to you for now. I need to discuss this with the Commander."

Landon raised his hand in a salute and replied.

"Yes!"

After a calm glance at Landon, Thurman stood up and left the room.

In the room

Thurman contacted Richard via comms, and Richard's face appeared on the screen.

They exchanged looks through the screen before Richard's voice came through the speaker.

"Is there something?"

Hearing the question, Thurman responded.

"Commander, based on our recent analysis, we've concluded that ZAFT's reinforcements are likely to reach the Moon soon."

Richard tapped his fingers lightly on the table and asked seriously.

"How accurate is this analysis?"

Thurman nodded with a solemn expression.

"According to our analysis, it's almost certain. Unless we've made an error."

After speaking, Thurman reminded Richard.

"Commander, we must overestimate the enemy's capabilities. Only then can we secure victory in this war."

Richard listened to Thurman's reminder, nodded impassively, and then said to him.

"Our reinforcements will arrive in two days."

Hearing this reassuring response, Thurman felt most of his worries dissipate.

Letting out a sigh of relief, Thurman asked Richard.

"Commander, how many reinforcements will we receive?"

"This batch will include one thousand Strike Daggers, with only four Drake-class Space Frigates for battleship support."

Richard answered Thurman's query calmly.

After hearing this, Thurman fell silent.

Seeing Thurman's quiet demeanor, Richard spoke up.

"Thurman, personnel training takes longer than MS production. This is the fastest we can manage with current training speeds."

Hearing the Commander's comforting words, Thurman broke his silence, nodded, and said.

"I understand, Commander."

Richard acknowledged Thurman's response with a calm nod and ended the communication.

Looking at the terminated comms screen, Thurman stood and headed out of the room.

On the Athena

Felix composed himself on the bridge, wearing a gentle smile as he opened the door to his room.

Seeing his lover, Felix spoke softly with affection.

"Lacus, I'm back."

Hearing Felix's voice, Lacus looked up at him and nodded with a tender smile.

"Welcome back!"

With that, Lacus stood up and walked toward Felix.

Arriving before Felix, Lacus began to speak.

"Felix, after you left, I thought about many things."

Hearing her words, Felix smiled and took Lacus's small hand, leading her toward the bed as he asked.

"Would you like to tell me about them?"

Following Felix's steps toward the bed, Lacus nodded as she walked.

"Of course."
