"I want to accompany Uncle Zala for a negotiation!"
Facing Felix, Lacus declared with firm resolve.
Hearing Lacus's decision, Felix was momentarily stunned before collecting himself to ask.
"What do you plan to do?"
Looking at Felix, Lacus replied decisively.
"I want to test Uncle Zala's true intentions!"
Upon hearing Lacus's idea, Felix thought for a moment before speaking with a troubled expression.
"That plan will be difficult to succeed."
Lacus nodded in agreement.
"Indeed, it will be difficult, but it's not entirely hopeless. I believe we should try as long as there's a chance."
Seeing Lacus's determination, Felix said nothing more and gently nodded in support.
"In that case, I support your idea."
Feeling the support in Felix's words, a hint of happiness appeared on Lacus's face. She tightly grasped Felix's hand with her small one, leaned against his shoulder, and thanked him.
"Felix, thank you for your support."
Glancing at Lacus, Felix smiled faintly and spoke gently.
"No need to thank me. It's what I should do."
After saying this, Felix thought for a moment and asked.
"When do you plan to negotiate with Uncle Zala?"
Hearing this, Lacus pondered and then said.
"The sooner, the better."
Learning Lacus's thoughts, Felix glanced around the current layout of his room. It definitely wouldn't work here, so they would have to find another room.
As he thought this, Felix was about to discuss it with Lacus, but her voice spoke first.
"I plan to return to the Eternal!"
"Return to the Eternal?"
With a surprised expression, Felix exclaimed in astonishment.
As the surprise faded from his face, a trace of reluctance gradually emerged from within.
Lacus looked up at the reluctance on Felix's face and mirrored his feelings. Under his gaze, she said sorrowfully.
"I don't want to be apart from you either." Pausing here, Lacus changed her tone. "But some things must be done, so we have to separate temporarily."
Felix nodded, his expression tinged with reluctance but understanding in his words.
"I know."
Saying this, Felix turned and held Lacus tightly in his arms.
Feeling the warmth of his embrace, Lacus wrapped her arms around Felix's back, holding him just as tightly.
The two held each other like this.
Neither wanted to let go.
Time passed second by second, and after what felt like an eternity, they reluctantly released each other.
Looking at Lacus, Felix set aside his earlier reluctance and spoke gently.
"I'll escort you back to the Eternal!"
"Kira can handle the escort, and have Vania pilot the shuttle to meet us halfway."
Lacus looked at Felix and suggested.
Hearing Lacus's suggestion, Felix thought for a moment before shaking his head.
"I'll take you directly back to the Eternal!"
"No..."
Lacus shook her head, about to voice her refusal, when Felix interrupted with a serious expression.
"Lacus, let me handle this matter."
Seeing Felix's stern demeanor, Lacus ultimately couldn't bring herself to refuse.
Her headshake turned into a nod.
Half an hour later,
In the Central Hangar of the Athena.
"Captain, the Genesis is ready and can deploy at any time!"
Taiber saluted Felix, who was fully suited in his Combat Pilot Suit, speaking with earnest respect.
Felix returned the salute with a nod.
Lowering his arm, Felix guided Lacus toward the cockpit of the Genesis Gundam.
As the seat descended into the cockpit, Felix activated the Genesis Gundam.
"All systems ready!"
After confirming the system self-check was complete, Felix reported via comms.
A reply came swiftly through the communication channel.
"Launch bay doors are open. The airspace ahead is clear. You are cleared for launch!"
"Received!"
With those two words, Felix focused forward, gripping the control sticks firmly and pressing the forward pedal down decisively.
"Felix Leo Griffith, Genesis, launching!"
...
In the airspace ahead of the Athena,
Once the Genesis Gundam surged out of the battleship, Felix pushed the control sticks forward.
The horizontally flying Gundam swiftly dove downward!
Its altitude dropped rapidly, leveling off just dozens of meters above the lunar surface.
Checking the altimeter, Felix recentered the control sticks, restoring the Genesis Gundam to level flight.
Releasing one hand from the stick, Felix pushed the throttle forward.
The Gundam's thrusters increased output, and its speed steadily rose under Felix's control.
Inside the cockpit,
Felix piloted the Genesis while reminding Lacus,
"Lacus, remember to communicate the results to me as soon as they're available."
Hearing his reminder, Lacus nodded seriously.
"Understood!"
...
Some time later,
The Genesis Gundam arrived in the area where the Eternal and other battleships were stationed.
After entering the Eternal and dropping off Lacus, Felix didn't linger to talk much with Andrew and the others.
As he prepared to return, Felix suddenly remembered Canard.
Manually adjusting the comm channel, Felix spoke.
"Andrew, what is Kira doing right now?"
Upon hearing the question, Andrew thought for a moment before replying.
"Kira is resting in his room."
Answering, Andrew then asked Felix in return,
"Do you need something from Kira?"
"There is indeed something I need to discuss with him."
Without inquiring further, Andrew responded directly,
"I'll patch the comm through to Kira for you."
With that, Andrew set to work.
Once the comm was transferred, Kira's face appeared on the screen.
The two looked at each other through the screen, and Kira spoke first.
"Brother, did you need something?"
Hearing Kira's voice through the speaker, Felix began explaining the matter concerning Canard.
After recounting the entire situation, Felix noticed Kira's pensive and restrained expression. Seeing this, Felix spoke to him in a gentle, comforting tone.
"Kira, this matter isn't your fault. You don't need to blame yourself for it."
Hearing the comfort, Kira nodded.
After another moment of silence, Kira finally spoke.
"When the battle is over, I want to meet him."
Hearing Kira's thoughts, Felix smiled and readily agreed.
"No problem, I'll arrange a meeting between you two then."
Hearing the response, Kira looked at Felix and expressed his gratitude.
"Bro, thank you."
"It's nothing, no need to thank me."
With a faint smile, Felix spoke casually.
