Hidan's immortality was impressive in a very practical way. Even after being cut into pieces, he still was not dead. If anything, he seemed perfectly fine.
Even held in Kenichi's hand, the severed arm still showed nerve reactions. A little electricity would make it twitch, as if it were responding on instinct. It was almost fascinating.
If not for the fact that it was separated from the torso, the arm was no different from an ordinary person's.
What amazed Kenichi the most was how well it held its original shape under abuse. Fire, wiring, electrical stimulation, repeated testing, it endured all of it without degrading the way normal flesh should.
He had even hit it with Majestic Destroyer Flame, burning the arm into charcoal.
Once it was placed back into nutrient solution, its recovery speed became downright absurd.
"No," Kenichi muttered, staring at the arm as it soaked. "Rather than immortality, this is closer to extreme regeneration, like Wolverine."
Otherwise, Hidan surviving Kakuzu's attacks would not make sense.
The most infamous method of the Immortal Duo was simple. Hidan would entangle the target, locking them in place, and then Kakuzu would strike with an attack that hit both Hidan and the enemy.
Those who did not understand the duo often suffered badly. A normal ninja would never expect someone to attack their own teammate so casually, so they hesitated, misjudged timing, and paid the price.
And Hidan, after enduring countless assaults, could still look normal afterward.

Kenichi had successfully made a nose grow on Hidan's hand.

He tested it. It could not breathe. The nostrils were only flesh, with no respiratory tract behind them. It was as if the nose grew, but the rest of the system never followed.
Kenichi silently marked the inserted genome responsible for that result as "nose."
He could not be completely sure those genes were truly the ones that formed a nose in a normal human body, but for now, it was the only usable data he had.
The real headache came afterward.
How was he supposed to remove that genetic information once it had been inserted?
Hidan's body was perfect for this kind of testing. His immortality made him ideal, and there were no humanitarian issues. Hidan could not feel pain, and his brain was still soaking in Sensei's lab, so there was no sensation involved at all.
But once the genetic programming succeeded, the arm's genes were fundamentally changed. An extra set of genetic information had been added, and that extra set had successfully produced a nose.
It was bizarre.
It felt like writing a mountain of broken code, only for it to run flawlessly by sheer accident.
"So now I have to figure out how to extract the inserted genes?" Kenichi rubbed his forehead, feeling the edge of collapse.
Fortunately, this problem had a simple solution.
Extraction might be difficult, but destruction was not.
Since he understood the inserted genetic information better than anyone, he could just erase it.
As for whether the arm itself would be destroyed in the process, Kenichi did not consider that a concern.
If Hidan's immortality could not withstand that level of interference, then it meant his so called immortality still had very obvious limits.

Yin Release had similar weight in theory, yet its use was far rarer. Kenichi knew those two natures were not weak at all.
Most people simply did not know how to wield them properly.
"I'll try it," Kenichi said quietly, licking his lips. "Yin Release chakra does show destructive properties in testing."
He began to use Yin Release chakra to perform Genetic Programming Ninjutsu, aiming to erase the nose directly.
The moment he tried, Kenichi felt something was wrong.
