Chapter 253 - Keeping It as a Pet Wouldn't Be Bad Either

Translator: CinderTL

Feng Qi seized its wrist, and dark green flames surged from the point of contact, rapidly spreading across its stony surface.

Under the searing heat of the dark green flames, dark green spots appeared on the stone's surface.

The stone domain creature began to struggle violently.

But Feng Qi gave it no chance to escape. With a surge of strength in his right arm, veins bulged across his skin as he lifted the stone domain creature with brute force.

He spun around and slammed it onto the ground.

After flipping it over, he brought his massive fist down hard on the stone domain creature's head.

Sparks and shattered stone flew as a flicker of terror appeared in the creature's eyes.

Then came a second punch, a third punch... He relentlessly pummeled the stone domain creature with savage blows.

"Chirp!"

The Three-Tailed's cry drew his attention.

Turning to look at the Three-Tailed, who was sitting nearby eating melon seeds, a puzzled expression crossed Feng Qi's face.

Three-Tailed extended a claw and pointed into the distance.

Feng Qi immediately turned his head and saw three stone domain creatures charging toward his position.

Realizing they were social domain creatures, he felt no fear whatsoever.

His fist continued to pound down.

However, the stone domain creatures' outer defenses were incredibly strong, and he couldn't kill them quickly.

By now, the other three stone domain creatures had closed in.

He immediately stood up and charged forward to meet them head-on.

With a powerful stomp that created a deep crater, he rammed straight into the leading stone domain creature.

Boom!

Amidst flying debris, he sent the creature flying backward.

Next, with lightning speed, he grabbed the necks of the two remaining stone domain creatures as they lunged at him and slammed them violently into the ground.

The ferocity in his heart surged with each strike.

Grinning savagely, he seized the head of the stone domain creature on his right with his massive hand and stood up.

Using this creature as a weapon, he began violently smashing the other stone domain creature against the ground.

Under his relentless assault, both creatures quickly fell still.

The domain creature he had initially sent flying witnessed this carnage and didn't dare approach again.

But Feng Qi wouldn't let it escape. He chose to take the initiative and strike first.

His feet pounded craters into the ground as he sprinted, closing the distance to the fleeing stone man in the blink of an eye.

He seized the stone man by the back of its neck and slammed it to the ground.

Wrapping his arms around its neck, he tensed every muscle in his body as dark green flames rapidly engulfed the stone man beneath him.

Crack!

A crisp shattering sound echoed as the stone man beneath him instantly lost its life force.

Yet no blood mist materialized, indicating it wasn't truly dead.

He continued to pummel the stone domain creature's body into rubble.

When he shattered the rune crystal embedded in the stone man's chest, a crimson mist erupted from the already lifeless creature's surface, merging into his body.

Checking his status panel, he discovered he had gained a new ability: [Petrification].

Its effect: when activated, his body would petrify, drastically reducing his movement speed but greatly enhancing his defense.

He deemed this ability utterly useless.

Defense was for cowards; true men knew the best defense was a relentless offense.

High-level enlightenment! Thumbs up!

He rose to his feet and approached the three remaining stone domain creatures, now immobilized.

After shattering the life sources in their chests one by one, his newly acquired innate ability, "Stone Statue," leveled up to LV2.

"Three-Tailed, go devour this innate ability," he said, turning to address the Three-Tailed.

The disdain in Three-Tailed's eyes vanished in an instant, but it obediently entered his sea of consciousness and lunged toward the newly appeared gray talent orb.

To his surprise, Three-Tailed's energy form was repelled as it approached the Talent Ability Orbit, tumbling several times within the sea of consciousness before finally shaking its head and coming to a stop.

Looks like your talent orbs can only be touched by you. Three-Tailed can't interact with them... That's probably for the best. Imagine if Three-Tailed devoured them all in one night and lost all its abilities—the despair would be unbearable.

Hearing the Narrator's warning, he mentally conjured the scene and felt a pang of shame.

Next, using his Consciousness Body, he plucked the gray talent ability orb representing "stone statue" and tossed it to Three-Tailed.

Three-Tailed immediately leaped up, snatched the orb in its mouth, and swallowed it whole.

After a brief wait, Three-Tailed opened its mouth and spat out thirteen talent beads in quick succession.

Without hesitation, he merged these thirteen beads into his blood source.

After another short wait, the blood source completed its digestion of the talent beads.

The blood source strength of his Blood Source Talent had now reached 43% of the fifth tier.

But the path to advancement remained long and arduous.

At a mere 1.5% per bead, he still needed thirty-eight more to complete his second advancement.

Withdrawing from his sea of consciousness, he regained his senses and resumed his journey.

"Chirp!"

Three-Tailed emerged from his sea of consciousness at the same moment, falling into step beside him.

After advancing a distance, his Blood Source Form dissipated, his muscles automatically dissolving back into his Battle Body Form.

Three-Tailed remained by his side, occasionally tilting its head and chirping at him.

Under the crimson glow of the Blood Moon, the man and his feline companion continued their journey, growing smaller in the distance.

After an unknown length of time, they emerged from the abandoned city ruins into the familiar Plain Region.

Here, unobstructed by tall buildings, the horizon stretched endlessly.

As far as the eye could see, white flowers swayed in the wind, their undulating waves rippling like tides across the landscape.

Continuing to slay domain creatures along the way, his blood source strength reached 58% of the fifth tier, bringing him one step closer to his next advancement.

After another stretch of travel, they arrived at the crater.

Looking down, he saw Mu Yao's statue standing at its center, her silver spear pointing skyward.

The sight of Mu Yao's statue involuntarily conjured images of her battling endless waves of domain creatures.

In the end, her life had ended as the Domain Field completely enveloped the world.

This time, however, he didn't approach the statue.

Without Photographic Memory ability, the memories he could access were merely fragments.

The true length of Mu Yao's life remained a mystery, and attempting to extract her vast memories was clearly unrealistic.

He understood his limitations in this regard.

Following the seemingly endless horizontal crater that stretched for miles, he chose to continue his journey.

While he still had time, he decided to hunt domain creatures, simultaneously exploring and understanding the changes in this future world as much as possible.

Along the way, the sky suddenly darkened, and violent gusts of wind swept through the area.

Countless flower petals swirled into the air, transforming the landscape ahead into a vast, white floral sea.

Standing amidst this spectacle, his heart remained unmoved.

In contrast, Three-Tailed was visibly excited, bounding through the flower sea like a real-world Husky.

After advancing further, he suddenly heard a series of dull, heavy impacts.

Following the direction of the sound, he turned his gaze toward the nine o'clock position.

In the distance, amidst flashes of lightning and thunder, a colossal, mountain-like black figure was locked in combat with another towering silhouette.

Each strike tore through space, causing the sky to flicker between light and darkness.

The thunderous roars that echoed across the land were the result of their clash.

It was clear that each of these terrifying domain creatures possessed the power of a super domain creature, and they seemed even more terrifying than the giant hand he had encountered before.

This realization made him understand that he still had a long way to go in the future.

Yet he remained steadfast in his belief that he would lead all of humanity to victory over all domain creatures and achieve ultimate triumph.

Three-Tailed, ever the gossip enthusiast, leaped onto his head at that moment, gazing curiously at the battle erupting in the distance, striking his signature "gossip-watching" pose.

He initially considered pulling Three-Tailed down.

But after a moment's thought, he decided against it.

Three-Tailed was merely the Consciousness Body of a miracle item, not strictly a domain creature.

Though his personality was arrogant and mischievous, he had never shown any murderous intent toward him.

Keeping him as a pet wouldn't be so bad.

With this thought, he smiled and reached up to pat Three-Tailed, who was perched on his head, before continuing onward.
