I can feel my heart beating in my mouth as I stare at the girl on the screen.
For the umpteenth time since the start of the movie, she has raised my blood pressure, and I just want to wack her upside her head!
My heart skips when the killer suddenly appears behind her. She screams, and I scream with her.
Then immediately slap my hand over my mouth because… why am I like this?
It's not even that scary.
Okay, that's a lie. This movie is very scary. It's the kind of horror movie where nothing happens for long stretches, and then suddenly everything happens at once, and you lose five years off your lifespan.
I pull the blanket tighter around myself, tucking my legs under me on the couch like that will somehow protect me from whatever is about to jump out of the screen.
The house is quiet. Awfully quiet, and that doesn't help matters.
I glance toward the dark hallway behind me and swallow as I stare into it.
