Aurelian Vale;
If Ethan needs his pheromones suppressed, fine. But not with those damn inhibitors.
"There has to be one," I press.
"We can find suppressants, alternatives, stabilisers—" I begin stubbornly, and she cuts me off.
"There are none. I would know. I tried them all as he grew. Only the inhibitors work." She says in a defeated tone, and I freeze.
"There are no substitutes. The only thing that works are those inhibitors." She whispers, and my chest tightens.
"They're killing him," I whisper back, and her lips tremble.
"I know that." She replies, and silence follows.
Thick, heavy silence that causes more questions to arise in my mind.
Why the fuck is it even important for Ethan to suppress his pheromones?
If it's about being vulnerable as an Omega, I can mark him. I'll keep him safe. I swear it.
"If you really want to help him…you will let him keep using them." She whispers, and something in me snaps.
"That is not help," I note in annoyance, and she retorts.
