I try to keep my steps even as I march through the station.
When she called me earlier, she sounded panicked. I had to rush off work just to get here.
What could she possibly have done to land her at a station?
The eyes on her said she went to dinner with Anore, and in a few minutes, she was out of the restaurant with a girl in tow, only to be cornered by the cops and arrested.
My eyes keep scanning the room, and every second that I'm unable to find her, my irritation keeps growing. I see civilians and officers, but not that chaotic fireball I am in search of.
My impatience begins to flare, but then I see her.
And for a moment… Everything else fades.
She's sitting on a metal bench. She has a knee bouncing restlessly, and fingers twisting together in her lap. Her head is slightly bowed, but I can tell that it's not in defeat, but agitation.
…In impatience.
I take in the full sight of her, and every thought in my mind slows. She's wearing a dress.
