The howling outside was merciless, the tress shook violently, people rushed into their houses in fear but nothing could beat the storm brewing inside Kane. His chest burned with fury, his mind a whirlwind of dread. He could still hear Isadora's voice, faint and trembling, before the line went off. That broken sound had carved itself into him like a blade. He knew she was in danger. He knew she needed him.
He didn't need proof. He didn't need reassurance. He needed answers.
And the first place his instincts dragged him was the Hayes estate.
