Rain sips his tea slowly, and Day watches so keenly that he doesn't miss a single throat bob.
Or the way Rain's nose crunches up because of the steam.
"Do you want some?" Rain offers, blinking widely at him.
"No."
"Are you going to watch me drink till the last sip?"
"What? No," Day uncrosses his legs, then crosses them again, switching.
"Then…" Rain puts the ceramic down. "Why are you watching me?"
"I am waiting for you to say something."
"I mean … I want to, but I feel like your mate is going to tear my head off if I say the wrong thing," Rain looks right past Day's shoulder.
Day frowns, looking behind him, and sure. There is Travis.
Watching him.
"Oh, um, never mind him. he is … he doesn't want to let me out of his sight at the moment."
"Yes, because you just mated."
"So, you finally said it," Day waves, exhaling. "I want you to tell me what you think."
"Congratulations?"
"Oh my god," Day gives up, standing up.
