The great iron doors of the Obsidian Throne Room did not open; they were violently ripped apart by the sheer force of Aldren's approaching aura.
The air inside the vast, cavernous hall was thick enough to choke a mortal. It tasted of rusted iron, old blood, and the crushing weight of the deep earth. Massive pillars of jagged black glass stretched up into the unseen ceiling, and at the far end of the room sat a throne carved from a single, massive piece of night-stone.
But it was the entities lining the carpet of woven shadows that commanded attention.
