Chapter 127 - Chapter 4: Those Who Remember Too Much

The Bloodrune seal did not fade.

It burned.

Not with fire - but with information.

-

Inside a sealed crimson chamber-

Three elders stood before a floating fractured mirror.

The reflection showed only static.

Then-

A single line appeared:

"Mirror activity confirmed."

Silence followed.

Heavy.

Uncomfortable.

One elder spoke.

"…They failed."

Another answered slowly:

"No."

A pause.

"They confirmed what we feared."

The mirror cracked slightly.

And something inside it… moved.

Far deeper underground-

Where no map recorded existence-

A place without coordinates, only memory gaps-

A bell rang once.

Not sound.

Not vibration.

But recognition.

A figure opened their eyes.

Covered in pale cloth, face hidden.

Their voice was soft.

"Bloodrune has touched it."

Silence.

Then:

"So the cycle is already accelerating."

Another figure stepped forward.

"No contact should have been possible yet."

The first figure responded:

"That is what makes him dangerous."

A pause.

"He is not following the expected collapse timing."

They turned slightly.

Toward something unseen.

"Send a scout."

A ritual began.

No chants.

No formation circles.

Only silence layered upon silence.

A mirror appeared.

But it did not reflect the room.

It reflected a place where Tiān Lán existed.

Inside it-

The image flickered.

Then stabilized.

A single being stepped through.

Not like teleportation.

Not like movement.

Like being recalled by reality itself.

The summit region.

Tiān Lán had not yet left the Bloodrune zone.

He paused again.

This time-

No assassin aura.

No killing intent.

Something worse.

Presence without hostility.

Presence without emotion.

Presence that simply observes correctly.

A figure stood ahead.

White cloth.

Empty face.

No aura fluctuations.

No qi signature.

As if cultivation rules did not apply.

Tiān Lán's eyes narrowed.

"…You're not Bloodrune."

The figure tilted their head slightly.

"We do not belong to them."

A pause.

"Nor do we belong to you."

Inside Tiān Lán-

The Mirror stirred violently.

Not voice.

Not whisper.

But distortion spike.

A fragment of sound appeared:

"Do not interact directly."

Then-

"This one remembers."

Tiān Lán's expression hardened slightly.

"…Remembers what?"

No answer.

Only pressure.

The scout stepped forward one step.

Reality did NOT shift.

It accepted them.

That was the most dangerous part.

"We are here to verify continuity."

Tiān Lán frowned.

"…Continuity of what?"

A pause.

Then the scout replied:

"Of the Mirror Holder cycle."

-

The wind stopped again.

Not artificially.

Not forced.

Just… listening.

The scout continued.

"You are not the first to carry it."

A pause.

"And you will not be the last."

Tiān Lán's Guardian Threads tightened instinctively.

"…Explain."

The scout tilted their head slightly.

"If we explain too much…"

A pause.

"You will begin to synchronize earlier than allowed."

Silence.

Heavy.

Then-

The scout added quietly:

"But we can confirm one thing."

A pause.

"The Mirror Echo has already awakened."

For the first time-

Tiān Lán felt it clearly.

Not fear.

Not confusion.

But scale shifting beneath reality.

The scout began to fade.

Not leaving.

Not escaping.

Just being withdrawn.

Before disappearing completely, they said:

"If you meet yourself again…"

A pause.

"Do not trust which one answers first."

And they were gone.

Silence returned.

But now-

It was layered.

Three levels deep.

Tiān Lán stood alone.

But the world no longer felt like a single system.

It felt like:

something watching him from multiple versions of existence.
