Chapter 90 - Chapter 90 ‘Bloody Sunday’

It was high noon the next day. As the church bell rang. Charles holds his ears. Walking into a church. "Hello there." A kind voice rang through the air.

"Hello there Father Cuttingham." Charles said, turning to see a tall lanky man with a kind smile. He was middle aged with a streak of gray hair down the middle. His eyes always seemed to be closed.

"You can just call me Alexander, you have been a great help to these children." Alexander said with a huge smile. As we heard a stampede of footsteps.

"Big brother!" One of the children screamed. She had blonde hair and big blue eyes. Piper is one of the kindest children that Charles shelters through his many orphanages he built for kids whose parents died to Vampires.

"Hi Pie!" Charles said, lifting her up with a smile on his face. As countless other children swarm Charles.

"Big bro! Where have you been?" One of them questioned.

"Big bro did you bring gifts?" A second one questioned Charles smiled.

"Wow, slow down. Stop hoarding dear Charles." Alexander said as the kids made a path for him. Charles put down Piper.

"Alexander, thank you for inviting me here to see them in good spirits." Charles said. Both of them shared a nod. All the children seemed to be happy.

"You're welcome. Thank you for your trust in watching over these children." Alexander said. As something felt strange it was the faintest smell of blood. Charles noise scrunched up. Where is it coming from?

"Why do I smell blood?" Charles questioned.

"It must be your imagination." Alexander said. But I smelled blood but it was so faint.

"Yeah it must be." Charles agreed. With a small nod. Letting it go.

"Don't worry about it, you will stay at the Orphanage tonight." Alexander offered.

"Sure why not." Charles said.

"We thank you, we have a special plan for this night." Alexander smiled. I could swear he had vampire fangs. The warning form that man rang in my ear.

"Emerald by day and a ruby at night. Vampire who shepherds the flock." That warning ran out in my head. What could that mean?

"What special plans?" Charles asked.

"Something I planned is something very special." Alexander would not answer the question. As we entered the church for the day it seemed to end near noon.

"Really I thank you for your generosity for having us for dinner." Charles said as he left the church.

"It's no problem I am repaying an odd debt from someone very interested." Alexander Cuttingham. Bowed as we walked into a massive orphanage. As we entered the first floor. Alexander led Charles up four more floors. Charles was led several more feet. Over 12,736 children call this place home. Over 3,000 staff. 1,500 nurses and caretakers, 70 full time psychologists, 1,000 Cleaners, 30 main head of staff being directly under Alexander Cuttingham.

"It seems oddly quiet." Charles commented he looked around with some suspicion in his voice. His shoulder is becoming more tense.

"They are just preparing for the main event." Alexander said with a smile. As we pasted a big picture Charles stopped.

"What an interesting picture." Charles said. It was a shepherd surrounded by sheep. It was surrounded by something that looked like gold. On each end was a green stone. As they then continued crossing countless guards they seemed to have a weird amount of vents.

"You must be happy to know that the fate of the children here was decided because of you." Alexander spoke as one of his eyes opened; it was blood red. Pasting even more doors. So many vents they all are at the bottom of the floor.

"Thanks, it was said to be built on massive ruins so don't worry about that. The city sold it cheap." Charles said with a small smile on his face.

"Yes, the ruins. They were built into the basement." Alexander said.

"Over 1,000 missing children and three morgues within ten blocks. I wished I could give them a better place to stay." Charles said.

"Yeah, quite an interesting place for countless serial killers that steal bodies. Over 3,400 bodies lost." Alexander said.

"Yeah they were calling themselves the Shepherd, an underground cult of serial killers. If I heard correctly then they number in double digits." Charles said.

"You're quite well informed." Alexander said with a smile. Charles nodded.

"Yes I heard there was a massive disaster so you use quite a bit and reinforce the building was that right?" Charles said.

"Yes thank you for that." Alexander said, showing Charles his kind smile. Before he continued to walk. As Alexander and Charles stopped.

"Your personal office." Charles said. The metal door had a moon on the left made out of red gem that reminded me of a ruby and a sun that of green stone that looked like an emerald.

"May you wait here." Alexander said. Opening the door. Charles nodded. As he entered the room. It had a red velvet rug. Having a massive book shelf and a massive painting. It was a brutal painting. A slaughtered sheep with its eye torn out. Its small intestines wrapped around it like bandages. One of the horns was ripped off showing part of the skull. Each of the borders of the painting was red stone. Pinning it to the wall.

"Well that is a goresume painting." Charles said, looking at it closer.

"Maybe a gift from a family member." I said with a small sigh.

"He has no family; they all died in the four months' bloodiest night." Charles said.

"How?" I asked.

"He never told and no official report." Charles said as he turned around.

"Wait." I said the only thing I remember is that four months before Charles' birth Hellsing hunted a Vampire that was amassing an army of the Holy Empire of Lumia. Hellsing slaughtered them with ease. There is no way. Right? As Charles peered out the window.

"What happened?" Charles asked as the bright blue sky seemed to be drowned in a bloody crimson. Falling like blood from the body.

"This is not good." I said.

"What is it?" Charles questioned.

"Bloody Moon." I said.

"Can you tell me what it does?" Charles questioned. Looking at the window in pure confusion.

"An ability that boosts the power of all Vampires, Ghouls and Vengeful Spirits." I told him as he shook his head trying to clear his head. As a stampede of foot steps. Groaning and shambling.

"What is it now?" Charles questioned. As Charles opens the door. Seeing a sea of ghouls. All of their hollow eyes looking at Charles. But they were smaller than a normal adult.

"An army of ghouls." I said.

"No, they are children." Charles spoke. Charles' rage seemed to explode. As some of the ghouls lurched forward. Charles destroyed their heads with brutal accuracy.

"We need to find out who is doing this." I said flying above his head.

"When I do I am going to tear the Vampire limb from limb." Charles said. As he crushes another skull of the ghoul child. All the blood seemed to be dropping through the vents.

"Help me.." One of the ghouls said. A single tear fell down from the ghoul. Its flesh was not as rotten as the others meaning the person was turned recently. Charles punched off that ghoul head.

"Whoever is doing this plans this out." Charles said. His anger was rising. Starlight started to leave Charles' body. Even more ghouls charged Charles started them with brutal efficiency. Blood is still going into the vents. As I heard clapping it was someone wearing a cloak. He had a shepherd caine. It was over his shoulder. As Charles dodges the downward swing of Shepherd hitting the bloody ground.

"I am one of the ten Shepherds we met again." The person said as he lifted the hood and took it off. Showing Vic Cuttingham his eyes were glowing red.

"You were turned into a Vampire. When?" Charles said with a snarl.

"I don't have to tell you." Vic said with a smile. As he tried to block it with his wooden staff. It snapped in two. Vic's face was filled with shock. As Charles' punch shattered his face. Blood poured down his noise. As it slowly healed itself. Charles then ripped off Vic's throat. Blood poured out the wound like a waterfall. Then it slowly healed.

"Well then." Charles said his eyes glowed yellow. As then Charles stomped down crushing one of Vic legs like paper. A sickening crunching rushed in the bloody hallway. As Charles grabs the inside of his mouth. As he ripped off Vic's lower jaw. Charles threw it to the side like trash. Vic tried to punch Charles. Charles grabbed the punch out of mid air.

"Stop playing with your food." I said. As simply cut off Vic head. Using his hand. His head rolled a few times. As he slowly turned to ash.

"Fine. I was trying to get some information." Charles said with a small sigh. A frown was on his face. His knuckles were white.

"You were just torturing him." I said as he started to walk off. Charles storms down to the second level. Seeing another sea of Ghouls standing there blankly staring. Once again Charles slaughters them. Without mercy so many children were turned into Ghouls. The blood spilled onto the floor like rain. Pouring down into the vents that seemed to line the room drawing in the blood. As Charles tries to walk down the next stairs. Charles' foot stopped in mid air. Electricity jumps at Charles foot. Charles jumped back.

"What happened?" Charles questioned.

"Barrier magic." I said but who casted it as I heard clapping from behind.

"How does it feel to kill the orphans that looked up to you, the ones you saved." The vampire said. His smile was huge. Showing off his fangs.

"You bastard!" Charles snarled. Fangs seemed to grow from his finger nails.

"You will not win." Vampire said. As Charles charged the Vampire barely dodged. As Charles clawed hand burst through the Vampire chest. Blood spilled out like a river onto the floor. The vampire started to turn to ash. As Charles tried to walk down the stairs. No nothing. He continued the barrier was gone.

"Looks like each Vampire life is connected to the barrier. So all I have to do is kill that Vampire." Charles said with a bloodthirsty smile on his lips. Showing his dragon like teeth.

"You make it sound so simple it's a trap." I told him but it fell on deaf ears. Something was very wrong here. But the inferno that was Charles' rage would not be tamed; he continued seeing another horde of ghouls. Charles seemed disgusted at this show.

"Starlight: August Whirlwind." Charles said in an instant all of the ghouls were dead. As he looked around this was showing the blood flowed into the vents like they were being stuck in.

"Now where the vampire?" I asked.

"Somewhere." Charles snarled like a wild animal. His eyes had turned Dragonic and wild. As Charles walks down the hallway suddenly some doors open and more ghouls swarm out. Charles ripped off the first one head and crushed the second one.

"You truly cut down the one you love." A voice came from somewhere and it seemed to come everywhere. Charles was covered in the blood of the ghouls dozens of them. Blood seemed to clear for some reason.

"Shut up! Show yourself!" Charles howled. The voice seemed to laugh. A hideous crackling sound. As suddenly more ghouls came from the doors in front of us. They clawed Charles. They seemed to engulf him from all the angles.

"Come on kill them like everyone you loved!" The voice screamed. Once again it started to laugh. More ghouls seemed to pile on.

"Charles!" I yelled in worry as a light shined and grew brighter turning the ghouls to ash.

"I am sorry I could not save you." Charles said. A single tear slipped down his cheek.

"Murder! You're worse than us!" The voice screamed at Charles.

"Show yourself coward!" Charles commanded. Starlight still clung to him like a cloak.

"Why would I do that?" The voice questioned as Charles just growls at this comment.

"Bastard." Charles said.

"Help me. Help me!" The voice mocked. It was laughing again. Hearing a shrill scream. Cut through the air. Charles rushed to the noise seeing a small girl about to be torn apart by ghouls. Charles slaughtered the ghouls mercilessly; they fell like puppets with their strings cut. Something felt wrong.

"Thank you." The little girl covered in a cloak said as Charles turned his back to the girl as blood spilled from the child's eyes. They were glowing red.

"Charles-" I yelled. As the girl with a dagger. Plunging into Charles' leg. His blood gushed out of the wound. The small child giggles.

"You always fail when it matters." The voice came back. It was laughing at Charles.

"Shut up!" Charles said, picking the girl up by the neck. Charles started to squeeze the child's neck and a lock of blonde hair fell out.

"Please big bro-" The child begged as a loud snap was heard. Charles roughly drops the body. It was the face of Piper, her lifeless state staring at his face. Charles takes a step back.

"You kill all those you love without mercy or doubt." The voice roared. Charles covered his ears.

"No!" Charles yelled. I felt terrible for Charles.

"Wonder who next maybe Mari? Sebastian? Or maybe Gabriel?" The voice started to laugh like a maniac. The sadistic glee in the voice made my skin crawl.

"Shut up! Shut up!" Charles roared. Tears spilled from his face.

"You will never have anyone to hold close because you kill them. Devil." The voice stated Charles starlight whipped and lashed out.

"Charles!" I yelled trying to get his attention.

"Just lay down and die." The voice continued whispering with hate in Charles and mine ear.

"Charles!" I tried once again to get his attention. Charles punched a wall. It showed spider web like cracks but did not shatter.

"What makes a human Mercy? Love? Charity? Empathy? Maybe something else but you don't have it, you're not human." The voice was now roaring once again. Charles was still crying.

"Charles!" I yelled once again.

"Shut up! Shut up! Shut up!" Charles said. A few more tears fell down from his face.

"How many more friends will you kill?" The voice question as more ghouls started to shuffle towards Charles.

"Charles, you need to fight!" I yelled as he looked up at me.

"Your right I am not human but I will torture you for a good while I am no saint I am the Devil." Charles said with a crazed smile has his mind broken?

"Stay down, just die you murder!" The voice yelled coming from everywhere.

"Starlight: Twister." Charles said. As a massive torrent of wind came from Charles up lifted palm shredding through all the ghouls like wet tissue paper.

"You monster!" The voice yelled.

"Exactly." Charles said a blood thirsty grin covered his face. He might have gone insane. As he slowly stalks forward, kicking down the doors one by one. Killing whatever he found inside it was a lot of ghouls. I felt sorry for Charles.

"Stop and just die!" The voice almost sounded panicked. He was at the seventeenth door. The last door. Charles kicked down the door. The vampire was sitting on a throne of children's corpses.

"Found you." Charles said his voice was ice cold. He slowly prowls forward like a lion stalking its prey.

"Please spare me." The vampire begged. His voice was shaking. It was his voice. Charles started to laugh like a madman.

"Good joke." Charles said. Grabbing him by the neck. Suddenly the vampire smiled.

"I may physically be weaker than most vampires but my blood manipulation is better than the average Baron." The vampire bragged that I saw needles of blood shot at Charles. His eyes flicked to the side for a second. They hailed on him. But he did not let go, they didn't even break his skin. Charles looked into his eyes. Charles pinned him to the ground.

"I am going to enjoy this." Charles spoke in a low threatening tone what he meant. As Starlight started to burn his left leg. He let out howls of agony.

"Please spare me. Have a heart." The vampire begged for his left between screams of pure pain. He struggles using both of his hands to remove Charles' grasp from his neck.

"You took that away from me. Now you pay." Charles said. As he put more pressure on his neck the ground below him groaned. The vampire continued to flail trying to break Charles' vice-like grip.

"I can bring her back!" He offered through the yells of pain as the Starlight started to destroy the other leg. Charles merely growled as gripped tighter than before. His eyes started to fill with more panic.

"A monster like you doesn't make me laugh." Charles said as he started to use his free hand to pummel the face of the Vampire.

"Please stop!" The Vampire begged. If anything Charles started to punch harder blood covered the ground. Each blow scattered blood onto the floor. His pleas fell on to deaf ears. As Charles got up with a smile still on his face. Charles stood up looking at the down Vampire. Pinning his hand to the ground. He squatted down and ripped off a finger snapping like a twig. The vampire howled in pain. Charles burnt the wound with Starlight.

"I don't have time for you." Charles said getting back up. Now stomping on his neck. As Starlight slowly burned him slowly into ashes. His howls of pain were like choruses of a song. Charles' smile faded as the Vampire almost full disappeared.

"You always kill those you love." The vampire said. Before it completely turned to ash.

"I am sorry Pie I failed you." Charles said as he hung his head. Another single tear fell down his cheek. As suddenly a small white ghost appeared. It was Piper but how? It was a Vengeful Spirit.

"Kill those scary monsters! The ones that took my parents and the ones who harmed you." Piper said as Charles reached for her but she shattered into a million pieces and then faded.

"Okay I will kill those scary monsters for you." Charles vowed. Charles starlight grew brighter and seemed stronger.
