The massive iron gates in front of the Pendragon manor. They moved like they were alive. A haunting welcome to us. As both Charles and Seris enter the gate it slammed shut. Massive thick forest lay to both sides of the path. They got to the main door made of heavy steel to keep the Ghouls out of the manor and the prey inside of the manor. Charles pushed the gate open. They creaked and groaned. As if to complain about being opened. The door opened enough for Charles to enter. "You first." Charles said as Seris nodded and entered. Charles followed. The gate slammed shut like thunder.
"Thank you." Seris said.
"I can finally open the gate on my own. It is quite an accomplishment for me." Charles said, looking at his palm as it gripped tightly.
"Well then congratulations." Seris said with a smile on his face he looked a lot like Charles. A small nod was shared between the two. I could hear the walls move as I sensed something closing in and fast. Charles jumped up dodging it. It was Marinette going for a hug. She crashed into the floor.
"Cha Cha your back." Marinette said tears spilled from her face. She hugged Charles like he was a lifeline. I could have sworn I heard a cracking sound.
"Now Marinette, this is no way to behave. My son must be tired." Mina Pendragon said. My brother's third and youngest wife.
"Hello Ma." Charles said with a slight bow whatever he could do with Marinette hugging him so tightly. This made Mina's face burst with happiness and I could see Seris grit his teeth. Her crimson eyes glow with happiness. Seris coughed.
"Do you know where Sebastian is?" Seris said. His jaw was clenched.
"Somewhere." Mina said as she crossed her arms. Both of them were glaring daggers at each other. As footsteps cut through the silence. Mina took a step to the side. Mina looked worried. The steps got closer and closer and then Lux was shown.
"Hello brother." Lux said, taking a small bow with a wide grin. He injected something into Charles. But the question was what.
"Hello brother." Charles responded with the same tone as Lux. As Lux's smile split his face.
"You must simply tell me about your adventures in the exam." Lux said. Marinette glared at Lux. Charles had a small grin.
"Maybe at a later time." Charles spoke, his voice held a bit of kindness in it.
"Of course. I heard of a terrorist who would do such a thing." Lux said, shaking his head. You would let them literally work for you.
"I have no clue." Charles spoke, his voice suddenly filled with coldness. Lux's smile only grew at this.
"Well it's good to see you again." A cold voice said it belonged to the oldest of the Pendragon children, Carmine. Charles tensed at the present of his eldest brother.
"It is good to see you too, eldest brother." Charles said. As Marinette hugged even tighter. He bowed to Carmine as he nodded.
"It is good to see you." A voice came. Sebastian rang through the hallway and everyone went very still. All of them lowered their heads in respect; the only one that did not was Seris.
"Thank you father." Charles said his tone was measured and calm.
"It's nice to see you Sebastian." Seris spoke freely as if he was an old friend. Sebastian smiled and nodded. This shocked everyone in the room. Minus Seris and Sebastian.
"It's good to see you as well." Sebastian said with a small nod. It was completely shocking.
"Well I will get going." Seris said as he turned to leave through the massive metal gate.
"Well then, I will join us for dinner in about three hours. Please make yourself at home." Sebastian asked with a small smile showing off his fangs. "It would be an honor." He said.
"Fine but I sit next to Charles." Seris demanded. With a toothy grin on his face.
"Of course I would like to talk?" Sebastian asked politely with a smile on his face.
"Okay we have time." Seris said I could feel something familiar but I could not place my finger on it. It is as if I have met him before.
"I will be in my tower if you need me." Charles said as he gently removed the hands of Marinette from around him. He starts to walk off.
"Bye Cha Cha!" Marinette said with a big smile a smile that showed off her Vampire fangs. As a few seconds of walking.
"Bye Mari! Bye Lux!" Charles said as he turned the corner. He pasted the window with some thick steel bars on them. It seemed like a maze to trap prey in the endless red carpets of the Pendragon Manor. As he walks up the stairs with a smile. As he got into the tower area at long last.
"Welcome back Young Master." One of the maids said she had ruby eyes, one of Sebastian's personal maids. She was about the strength of a Count. No where near the strength of me when I was at my full strength. Charles nods.
"Hello." Charles said with a small smile.
"You missed this place?" I asked him suddenly as he smiled.
"Of course I miss my home. This place is my home." Charles said as it was a simple fact. As he continued to walk the long and winding corridor of the Pendragon manor. As suddenly the carpet turned black. As a metal gate stood there. But Charles turned around. As he managed to get to the tower area.
"You're out of practice." I said taunting him as he shrugged jerking me around. Okay that one I deserved this time.
"Maybe I am." Charles said with a small laugh in his voice.
"You must definitely be." I said. As he opens the door to see a massive scaly reptile about the size of a large dog. As then another reptile was bigger and walked on its wings one of them was a Wyvern the other one a Wyrm. Charles took one deep breath. They were fighting over a couch cushion.
"Hello Charles!" Arthur said with a bright smile. His smile was bright and friendly.
"Why are these two fighting over furniture!" Charles asked menacingly. Both the Wyvern and Wyrm dropped the couch cushion and both lowered their heads a sign of submission.
"Well I can explain." Arthur said. Waving his hands defensively.
"I have been gone for three months and I come back to two Dragonoid fighting over a couch cushion." Charles said with a sigh.
"Will you see that they're good I swear." Arthur said. Nervously chuckling.
"You're aware that Wyvern and Drake will keep growing, you can't keep them in here forever." Charles said. As the Wyvern yipped. Charles smiled and shook his head. As Charles let out a laugh.
"Allow them to stay please. I swear they will be good assets." Arthur said, kneeling in front of Charles. Charles put his hand on Arthur's shoulder.
"I will allow you to keep them but you have to train them properly okay." Charles said, patting Arthur's shoulder. As the two separated from each other to allow Charles to walk past them.
"Thank you Charles!" Arthur said his voice was basically a yell. His eyes glimmered with thankfulness and happiness.
"Don't thank me, just train them." Charles said with a wave of his hand as he walked up the stairs to his personal room. Charles sat down on his chair. As a smile threatened to split his face.
"What?" I questioned.
"I am finally home." Charles said with a smile. As he got up from the chair and flopped onto the bed.
"Yeah you're right but school starts in a few days." I reminded him as he frowned.
"Don't remind me." Charles said. He suddenly sits up with a dangerous look at his face. Charles got up and opened the door.
"Hello, your father would like to talk to you." The maid said before leading the way.
"May I ask why I am being summoned?" Charles asked the maid.
"I forgot to ask my Young Master if that would be my failure." The maid said as I landed on one of Charles' shoulders.
"Don't worry about it." Charles said. His tone was flat as he looked at the hallways. Once again it seemed like an endless maze.
"May I ask you something young master?" The maid asked her voice to hold so much reverence and respect. Charles nodded.
"Sure why not." Charles said.
"Are you stronger than Carmine?" The maid as Charles froze.
"No, of course not." Charles said. Even though he bashed Carmine's head multiple times, it was time Charles lost to his rage.
"Okay he talks like you're stronger than him." The vampire maid spoke. As they both continued walking down the hallways. When they got to an ornate bog oak and gold. The maid knocked on the door.
"Come in." Sebastian's voice cut through the sparse hallway. As we entered the room documents were shattered about. Hand written notes Sebastian was not one for technology. Charles by far was the tech savvy of all the Pendragon.
"What is this?" Charles questioned. He picked up the folder and opened the file.

Charles was in pure shock. The sheer cost of the building must be billions of gold tokens. "Just how?" Charles questioned. Sebastian smiled.
"Mr Starling helped out a bit. Also I found a lot of labor for free." Sebastian said. By free labor he meant making Vampires do all the grunt work.
"Thank you father, I will happily accept this gift." Charles said with a bow.
"No problem." Sebastian said with a smile on his face. As his caine hit the ground.
"I will wait for dinner then." Charles said. As the night passed without incident he got a letter from Alexander Cuttingham. Reading.

Charles smiled at this letter. "This will be fun." Charles said with a grin. As he put down the letter.
