His father, Gerald, who had personally delivered the letter, stood frozen in confusion. These past few days, the son he once knew had completely changed into someone else entirely. Lucas had become darker, colder, more unstable.
Yet despite everything, it still did not stop the uneasy feeling Gerald always experienced whenever he stood in front of him.
"What is the problem, son?" Gerald finally asked carefully..
Lucas scoffed…
"So it is not enough that Raymond destroyed my business and placed people on my tail, now he is trying to sniff me out too."
He walked back toward the cabinet and poured himself another drink with trembling hands.
"Stop drinking that for once, will you, and talk to me. What exactly do you think is going on?" Gerald asked agitatedly as he snatched the bottle from Lucas' hand.
Lucas slowly lifted his head and stared at his father, his eyes blazing with fury. Without saying a word, he reached for another bottle, but Gerald quickly grabbed that one too.
