"Compensation," Phield said sternly. "I need compensation, or this matter is not over. I will make sure every noble in the empire knows that your so called underground ball is nothing more than a scheme to murder nobles. At that point, you may have to leave that filthy business to your son."
"Not a single copper will you get from me!" Simon snarled, grinding his teeth.
"That is enough."
Florine stopped Simon before turning her attention to Phield. She deliberately flaunted her alluring figure as she spoke in a gentle voice.
"Mr. Phield, we will compensate you. Please, just do not spread this matter."
"That depends on what you are willing to offer. Do not forget, I was only a step away from death."
Phield avoided Florine's hand and narrowed his eyes.
"If the Ross family can blast through the fortresses of Bull and Maple Leaf, then they can blast through yours as well. You had better think carefully before provoking the wrath of a count."
