"You..." Dean Morgan was utterly stunned.
The BEEP, BEEP, BEEP of a disconnected call sounded from Benjamin Morgan's phone.
Dean Morgan pursed his lips, then turned and ran outside, dialing Leigh Miles's number as he went.
But no one picked up on the other end.
A wave of anxiety washed over Dean Morgan. He wanted nothing more than to go back, pin Mr. C to the ground, and beat the hell out of him.
He dialed Leigh Miles's number again and again, but no one ever answered. Finally, just as he was driving up to the entrance of Arcadian University, she picked up.
"Leigh Miles... where are you?"
That familiar voice replied, "My dorm."
Dean Morgan's heart jumped into his throat. Gripping the steering wheel with one hand, he said anxiously, "I'm almost at your university. Come out for a minute."
"Whatever it is, just say it over the phone..." There was no discernible emotion in Leigh Miles's voice.
This made Dean Morgan even more anxious. "I have to tell you something in person."
