"That's what they're saying at the market. Ugh, you have to fight for vegetables every day now, it's so annoying. You can never get the first batch in the morning, so you have to wait for the afternoon, and even then, they're rationed. People are so contrary. I never used to like vegetables, but now that they're in short supply, I find myself craving them. I have to have them with every meal; I feel awful if I miss just one. Anyway, I can't talk anymore. Cecilia Adler stopped her. "You don't have to fight for them. I can get you some."
"Oh, I couldn't possibly," the older woman said, though she was grinning from ear to ear.
Cecilia said, "It's no trouble. I'll bring them to your place in a bit."
