"When I get back, I'll talk it over with Old Lee and see what else Cecilia might need," May Sutton said, trying to save face and give herself an out.
Mrs. Quincy smiled. "Okay, then. Let's go and not disturb Ian while he's studying."
May Sutton's lips twitched as she forced a smile. "Alright."

The three of them left the family housing complex.
Mrs. Quincy went to work, but May Sutton was still stewing over the sewing machine and other gifts the Quincys had prepared for Cecilia Adler.
The more she thought about it, the more upset she became, and she couldn't stop herself from scolding Vivian Lee again. "I told you to get engaged to Ian Quincy, and you refused. Now you regret it, don't you?"
