Chapter 118 - Chapter 118: Letting Go

"Mm-hmm." Cecilia Adler finished her fruit, took out her book, and flipped through a few pages. Her mind began to wander, and she started thinking about how to sell the river mussels tomorrow.

She didn't even realize when she fell asleep.

When she woke up, it was already the next day. She was in the master bedroom, all by herself.

Ian Quincy's note was still in the same spot where he'd left it yesterday.

She put the note away, washed the clothes she'd changed out of yesterday, and hung them on the balcony. Then, she bundled up and went out.

She returned to the riverbank in the woods.

She didn't rush to gather mussels, instead choosing to wander around.

She was looking for any wild treasures, like ginseng, reishi mushrooms, or things like that.

After a full circuit, she hadn't found any ginseng or reishi mushrooms.

But she did discover a peach tree.

It was laden with fruit.

They were big and red.

She walked over, picked one, and took a bite.
