"She's used to the countryside, so it's true she wouldn't be comfortable in the city. You go out and don't know anyone, and everything is so expensive. And even though Ian got into university, he isn't receiving a stipend yet. That's like your in-laws are supporting the two of you plus your grandmother. They must be under a lot of financial pressure."
Cecilia Adler didn't explain, only smiling and saying, "Mhm."
The transportation captain was dumbfounded. 'In-laws?'
'She's taken?'
'Damn girl, lying without even blushing.'
'Good thing I didn't fall for it.'
'From now on, the prettier the woman, the less I'll trust her words.'
He drove off in a huff, slamming on the brakes when he reached the destination Cecilia Adler had given him.
