The old woman figured the girl was conflicted.
This was a good start.
'When Shaw comes by tomorrow, I'll tell him,' she thought. 'He'll be happy to hear it.'
She poured a glass of water for Cecilia Adler. "Cecilia, have a drink. Your lips look a little dry."
Cecilia Adler was indeed thirsty.
She took the glass and drank it all in one go. After her emotions completely settled, she started worrying about her business again, saying dejectedly, "My business isn't doing well. I didn't get a single order all morning."
The old woman comforted her, "Don't be so anxious. When I was young, every businessman I knew said that starting out was incredibly difficult. You're a young woman, so it's bound to be even harder for you. Everything is a process."
