"Who cares if he likes it? If it comes to that, you can just leave him. I'll take care of you for the rest of my life," Titus Shaw said.
He couldn't bear to see his daughter suffer any more hardship.
"You're over forty. How can you take care of me for the rest of your life? I heard your health isn't that great." A sudden wave of sadness washed over Cecilia Adler. 'He looks so young, yet he's only going to live into his sixties.'
Titus Shaw took this as a sign that she was concerned about him.
He had undergone several major surgeries, and while his recovery had been good, there were still some lingering effects.
Before, he hadn't cared much.
But now, he was terrified of dying. He feared that without his protection, his daughter's life would be fraught with hardship.
Now, he wanted to live to be a hundred, to watch over her and protect her.
He asked happily, "Are you worried about me?"
