"Why?" Clara, oblivious to the displeasure in his tone, asked in confusion.
"Why do you think?" Seth Quinn said matter-of-factly. "Because if you were pregnant, you'd have to stay put at home. You wouldn't be able to go anywhere or do anything. That way, you wouldn't get into trouble, and you wouldn't be in any danger."
"So if you're pregnant, you can't go out or do anything? If I were… I mean, *if*. If I were pregnant, and it was still in the early stages, it's not like my mobility would be limited, or that I'd absolutely need someone to take care of me. And I still couldn't do anything?
