On Monday morning, when Aurora Sterling came to the dining room for breakfast after getting ready, Sharon Sterling and Joy Dalton were already sitting there.
Seeing Aurora come downstairs, Joy Dalton got up enthusiastically and ladled some porridge for her. "Aurora, you're down! Come and eat breakfast."
Aurora Sterling smiled at Joy Dalton and took the bowl.
Even after the weekend, Sharon Sterling's face was still a little red, a testament to just how hard Joy Dalton had slapped her. For the past two days, Sharon had barely left her room. On the one hand, her face looked awful and she didn't want anyone to see it. On the other hand, she felt she had to put on a show of repentance, yet she couldn't bear the thought of facing Aurora and pretending they were loving sisters. So, she simply hid in her room and refused to come out.
Aurora Sterling's gaze swept over to Sharon Sterling. "Sharon, did you apply the ointment I gave you? Why is your face still a little red?"
