Seeing Aurora's absentmindedness, Sylvia Vaughn shot her a displeased glare. "Let me tell you something. I call things as I see them. You helped me just now, so I'll thank you, but that doesn't mean I like you! In my heart, you'll never compare to Joanna!"
This time, Aurora didn't even look up, a small smile merely touching the corner of her lips. "Sure. I appreciate how you're so clear about who you like and dislike."
Sylvia Vaughn was rendered speechless by Aurora's comment. She couldn't understand why, but even though the words were technically a compliment, she felt like Aurora was insulting her. What frustrated Sylvia the most was that no matter what she did, Aurora was like a ball of cotton—soft, limp, and completely unaffected. It made Sylvia feel like she didn't exist at all.
