What was supposed to be a nice meal devolved into a complete farce. After Yvonne Vaughn pieced together what had happened, she sighed at the absurdity of it all while helping Joanna Jacobs dry her hair.
Soon, the club's security guards arrived and separated the stout woman, the thugs she'd brought, and the three women who had been beaten black and blue. The club manager knew the stout woman's husband, and by extension, knew her as well. As a result, they couldn't get rough with her and simply separated the two parties.
Other guests at the club had called the police. Before long, officers from the local precinct arrived and carted the whole unruly crowd away.
The woman with the childlike voice, now beaten to a pulp, was still crying and screaming, demanding to see the stout woman's husband and vowing that this wasn't over.
