Sean Carter could tell that Damien Valerius was furious. Based on his understanding of his boss, the anger wasn't directed at that lecherous idiot, Marcus Marsh, but at the fact that Miss Sterling had been drinking.
"Hurry it up!" Sean Carter ordered in a low voice to the men who had come with him to haul the others out of the bathroom.
The men heard Sean's orders and understood the situation. It wasn't wise for them to linger. Their boss was angry, and his presence was overwhelming—terrifying, even.
They quickly hauled out the goons piled in the bathroom. At the door, Sean Carter bowed his head respectfully. "Boss, I'll be waiting outside for you and Miss Sterling."
Only Aurora Sterling and Damien Valerius remained in the room. Her body was caged in his embrace, her cheek pressed against his chest. She could clearly hear his strong, powerful, and angry heartbeat, which echoed the rapid beat of her own heart as it raced from the alcohol.
