Joanna Jacobs's expression shifted, and a cold look crossed her face. "Are you implying that my skills are subpar, Miss Sterling? Oh, that's right. You'll be attending Westgate Medical University. I can't find a cure for Damien right now, so I hope you can find one in the future."
Aurora Sterling faltered. "That's not what I meant, Miss Jacobs."
Joanna Jacobs pressed her lips together, about to say something more to Aurora Sterling.
But Damien Valerius cut in. "That's enough. We're done here. Sean Carter, take Joanna back to her hotel."
Forcefully cut off by Damien Valerius, Joanna Jacobs's gaze darkened. She silently gritted her teeth, suppressing the bitter resentment that threatened to spill from her eyes.
After a moment, Joanna Jacobs stood up and gave Damien Valerius a serene smile. "I'll be going then. Damien, remember to take your medicine."
"Mm," Damien Valerius nodded.
The moment she turned, the smile vanished from Joanna Jacobs's face.
