When Joanna Jacobs had first returned to the country, she had performed a routine physical for Damien Valerius. At the time, her two assistants were still with her. However, they disappeared sometime after that.
Sean Carter had asked Joanna Jacobs about it back then, and her reply was that her two assistants had returned to their research institute abroad to handle work related to a new drug.
But now, the new drug was already in Sean Carter's hands, and those two still hadn't reappeared.
As Damien Valerius's status in the Valerius family rose, Joanna Jacobs, as one of his top people, became increasingly busy. The fact that her two assistants weren't by her side to help during such a time struck Sean Carter as odd.
Hearing Sean Carter's question, Joanna Jacobs finally reacted. "They... They're still abroad. I had them stay there to help me handle some other things."
