Damien Valerius led Aurora Sterling to the center of the banquet hall, his arm around her, and came to a stop.
"If you think there's something wrong with that caregiver, I can have Sean Carter look into it," Damien Valerius whispered, leaning in close to Aurora Sterling's ear.
But Aurora Sterling shook her head. "Not yet. I just thought the look in her eyes was familiar. Maybe I'm just being overly sensitive."
Since she put it that way, Damien Valerius didn't press the issue.
They had barely been standing there for a moment before they were surrounded by people hoping to curry favor with Damien Valerius.
Damien Valerius responded to them indifferently, treating everyone the same. No matter who he spoke to, he maintained a nonchalant air.
