In the study, Damien Valerius was in a grim mood.
He thought of Aurora Sterling, who had spent the last while finding every excuse to stick to his side.
He thought of Yvonne Vaughn's anguished expression in the kitchen just now.
Damien Valerius's heart was in turmoil.
He hated who he was now—a man who caused the two most important women in his life to worry.
He had always wanted to find the person who had poisoned him and tear them to shreds. Now, that desire burned hotter than ever.
Sean Carter knocked and entered, his expression urgent. "Sir, we have a lead on Professor Sterling's missing assistant."
Sean Carter had previously discovered that when Professor Sterling—Aurora Sterling's grandfather—was researching the Super Virus, only his assistant had been involved in the core research.
However, it wasn't long before the assistant had a falling out with Professor Sterling. Later, following the professor's unexpected death, the Super Virus vanished as well.
