"Mom, I'm starving. Could you please go check on dinner in the kitchen?"
Laura was deliberately trying to get Mindy out of the way.
"I'll go check on the kitchen right now. You two can chat for a bit."
Once Mindy was in the kitchen, Laura turned her gaze to Aiden Shaw. "Didn't we agree you wouldn't come to my house? That I would handle things here myself?"
"Did I agree to that?"
Aiden was wearing a black shirt today. He had the top two buttons undone, revealing his delicate, sexy collarbones. His black pants were cropped, showing a sliver of his ankles above a pair of white sneakers.
His eyes, as deep as the ocean, watched Laura with perfect composure, as if his presence here were the most natural thing in the world.
Pouting, Laura got up, walked over to Aiden, and sat down beside him. Without a word, she reached out and pinched him.
"I told you we broke up! Who said you could come here?"
