"Dr. Shaw, I don't want to see you right now. I don't want to hear your explanation, and I certainly don't want to hold your hand."
She stubbornly called him Dr. Shaw, saying things she didn't truly mean.
"The food you made was delicious."
Last night, Aiden Shaw had made a special trip back to the hospital. He'd taken the leftovers from the thermal container home and eaten every last bite.

On the sofa, Zachary Redgrave sat up, rubbing his aching back. He was tall with long legs, and after several hours curled up on the couch, he felt completely wrecked.
"Laura Lowell, are you feeling any better?"
"Much better. My stomach doesn't hurt anymore."
"That's good. I'll go get you breakfast first, and then I'll have a doctor come check on you in a bit."
Laura Lowell glanced at the pajamas and slippers Zachary Redgrave was wearing, her dark, elegant brows furrowing. "Are you planning on going out like that?"
