Laura Lowell turned over in the hospital bed, forcing a faint smile. "Weren't you on duty last night? Why haven't you gone home to sleep?"
"I was worried about you, so I came to check in."
Hannah Hale shot Zachary Redgrave a 'zip it' gesture before walking over to sit by Laura Lowell's side. "How did you suddenly come down with acute gastroenteritis?"
"I'm fine now, don't worry."
Hannah Hale glanced at the dejected Aiden Shaw. She didn't need to ask to know that the two of them hadn't made up yet.
'Under the circumstances, it would be better to let them have some time alone. If they can just talk things through properly, everything should be okay.'
Hannah Hale leaned close to Laura Lowell's ear and whispered, "Your phone was off yesterday. Dr. Shaw was worried sick. Just hear him out."
"But I saw him with a female doctor from your hospital. He was lying on the bed in the break room, and she was just standing there beside him. She even bought him that seafood soup he likes."
