Once the car started, Nancy finally let out a breath of relief. With a sullen look, she turned to Laura Lowell. "I want to sit next to Shaw. Please move."
"Sure."
Laura Lowell's agreement was swift and decisive. She was still sulking, after all, and had no desire to sit next to a certain someone.
Aiden Shaw's lean hand suddenly shot out and grabbed Laura Lowell's arm. "No," he said, his voice low.
"Why not? Nancy wants to sit next to you, and as it happens, I *really* don't want to sit next to you."
"Don't be difficult."
Aiden Shaw's brow furrowed, his deep eyes filled with a helpless exasperation.
"Shaw, Laura Lowell already agreed to switch. Why won't you? Am I really that unlikeable?"
From the passenger seat, Peach chimed in unhurriedly, "Well, at least you have some self-awareness."
"You! Shut your mouth! This has nothing to do with you."
'The moment we get out of this car, I'm going to have it out with that Peach,' Nancy vowed.
