"Come on in. We were just having dinner."
Hannah Hale was no longer angry after her talk with Aiden Shaw at the hospital that morning, so she was willing to put in a good word for him.
Aiden Shaw slipped on a pair of slippers at the entrance. When he saw Laura Lowell eating in the dining room, a hint of warmth crept into his somber gaze.
Hannah Hale went to the kitchen to get a bowl and a pair of chopsticks, all the while shooting meaningful looks at Zachary Redgrave, who was sitting next to Laura Lowell.
That guy clearly understood what Hannah Hale meant but stubbornly refused to budge.
"Why are you here freeloading dinner? Didn't that 'colleague' of yours prepare any for you?"
Zachary Redgrave said snidely.
Under the table, Hannah Hale discreetly kicked him. "Move over here."
"Ow, that hurt! Hannah Hale, can you stop siding with the outsider for once?"
