Instead of answering, Laura Lowell shot the question back at Raina Lynn, her clear, bright eyes filled with impatience and disdain.
"No, I was just asking."
Raina Lynn elegantly crossed her legs, her fingers, polished with red nail polish, alluringly toying with a strand of her hair.
Laura couldn't be bothered to deal with her anymore. She rose from the sofa. "If you'll excuse me."
As she watched Laura walk toward the restroom, Raina's eyes suddenly darkened. She shot a look at Phoebe Sterling, who was standing not far away.
Phoebe Sterling had come with Director Lorell today. Raina Lynn had offered to introduce them, and after that dinner, she had gone to a hotel with him.
The lead role in his upcoming show was now securely hers.
Phoebe Sterling nodded in understanding, said a few words to Director Lorell beside her, and walked away.
