Sensing the tall figure behind her, Laura Lowell turned her head, her eyes hazy with drink. The man's divinely handsome face suddenly filled her vision.
"You're… back."
Laura Lowell's slurred words tumbled out, laced with the scent of alcohol. Her dazed eyes seemed veiled in mist.
Aiden Shaw raised a hand to pinch the bridge of his nose, then bent down, swept the girl up into his arms, and headed straight for the door.
"Where are… we going… I'm not done drinking yet."
Laura Lowell's soft murmurs were a warm breath against the elegant line of Aiden Shaw's throat.
Aiden Shaw looked at the girl's slightly flushed cheeks, his deep, magnetic voice full of indulgence. "To my place."
The girl was obviously wasted, and Aiden Shaw certainly wasn't about to leave her alone with a male creature like Zachary Redgrave.
Once inside, Aiden Shaw nudged the door closed with his foot and flicked on the lights. "Go take a shower, then get into bed and sleep."
