"Pain is the only way she'll learn. She completely deserves this; she brought it on herself."
Zachary Redgrave bounced his crossed leg, showing not a shred of compassion.
Raina Lynn was curled up on the floor, her face black and blue. Her disheveled hair was matted with dust, and her clothes were covered in footprints. There wasn't a single spot on her that didn't ache.
It felt as if she were on the verge of death.
"Zachary Redgrave, make them stop..."
Raina Lynn managed to gasp out between the bodyguards' punches and kicks, her trembling voice sounding as if it would shatter at any moment.
Zachary Redgrave feigned ignorance, fiddling with the lighter in his hand, showing no intention of stopping them.
"You've schemed against Laura again and again. Did you really think no one had her back? What am I, just for show?"
Hannah Hale walked over and crouched down, signaling for the bodyguards to pause.
