"N-nothing's wrong."
The young nurse had just come out of Aiden Shaw's office when she ran into Hannah Hale. "Dr. Hale."
"Where's Dr. Shaw? Why didn't he come out with you? Everyone's waiting for him to start rounds."
Aiden Shaw was always punctual. This was the first time he'd ever been late like this.
The young nurse knew Hannah Hale and Laura Lowell were good friends, but she wasn't sure if Laura Lowell was the one who had spent the night with Dr. Shaw yesterday.
'If I say the wrong thing, I'll be in huge trouble.'
The young nurse's lips twitched, hesitating. She carefully considered her words before stammering, "Dr. Shaw said he has something to take care of, so he won't be joining everyone for rounds."
'I didn't mention a single word about a woman from start to finish. That should be the most foolproof way to put it.'
The reason was sound, but the nurse's expression was highly suspicious.
