Laura Lowell just felt so bad for her friend; it wasn't worth it. Hannah clearly could have found someone better, a man who would truly love her for the rest of her life. She didn't have to put herself through this.
But she just couldn't let go of that massive scumbag.
Zachary Redgrave shed his earlier nonchalance, a flicker of anger crossing his brow. "If he really did something to wrong Hannah Hale, I'll make sure he pays for it."

"First, give me his number."
"I think it'd be better if we both go to his company tomorrow to corner him. Even if you call him now, there's no way he'll tell us where he is."
Laura's fingertips traced patterns on her curled-up knees, half-consciously. After a moment's thought, she agreed, "Alright then. We'll go to his company tomorrow."
After she hung up, Aiden Shaw had finished making dinner. "Honey, time to eat."
"Oh, okay. I'm coming."
