The words had barely left his lips when Aiden Shaw walked in. His previously dark expression instantly softened upon seeing Laura Lowell.
"Honey, what are you doing here?"
"I just had dinner nearby, so I thought I'd stop by and see you."
Laura Lowell didn't dare mention that Ethan Shaw had called and asked her to come.
Aiden Shaw set down the patient file he was holding and sat beside Laura Lowell. "A new restaurant just opened near the hospital. Let's go there for dinner after I get off work."
"Okay."
Ethan Shaw, who had been rendered invisible, snuck a glance at his brother. "Bro, I won't get in the way of you and Laura's time together. There's still stuff to do at the company, so I'll be taking off."
"I thought I gave you an extended leave. Why are you going to the company?"
