Keith Chambers smiled and waved a dismissive hand. "It's not serious at all. Dr. Shaw is just making a big deal out of nothing. Laura just has a small bruise on her arm."
"But speaking of which, why did your husband push Laura? It kept me up half the night."
"As long as Laura is okay, that's what matters. It's getting late, so I won't see you out."
Hannah Hale didn't answer Keith Chambers's question, merely gesturing for him to leave.
"Alright, I'll get going then. You should hurry and take care of your husband's injuries."
Hannah Hale closed the front door. Seeing the battered Nathan Redgrave, she felt a pang of pity, but her expression remained cool and distant. "I'll go get the first-aid kit."
Nathan Redgrave sat down on the sofa, his gaze falling on her back. She was wearing a silk nightgown with a cream-colored cardigan thrown carelessly over it. Her long, slightly tousled hair cascaded down her shoulder blades.
